What types of career information sources can be helpful in identifying job opportunities.

Even if we have our degree diploma, we should have taught ourselves the importance of
distinguishing between what is true and what is not especially in this generation where too many
scams and fraudulent things are rampant. Starting a career or pursuing one job opportunities
can also be tough, we might asking ourselves where to start, and that I think let’s us to realize
the importance of equipping ourselves on the different types of career information sources.

A recommendation carries a lot of weight, especially when it comes from someone who is
respected within the company you are applying to. I definitely do think that personal contacts is
important because aside from our personal will to do research, our personal contacts can be one
of the best possible way to find information in connection to our job seeking opportunities, for
intance they may be knowledgeable of new opportunities and they can recommend me to try a
shot. Also, as a finance graduate of a developing country, internet has been an important
information source for my career opportunities, individuals and employers mostly relies on the
internet, LinkedIn (which I persona used) is useful and I would recommend getting one if you
haven't already. It's a great way to have a digital resume and to network with people.

Private employment agencies and career consultants, Recruitment agencies are a decent
way of finding a job in some cases. It's hard to get a job when you know absolutely no one and
only have references from other countries. Through an agency you can get access to some job
opportunities that are not yet (or will never be) made public. If you already have contacts, I
wouldn't use recruitment agencies. Being free from them is best.
