1. Drill (Review)
Using PowerPoint presentation, teacher will present an activity that covers the previous
discussion which is characteristics of plants.
Read each characteristic. If it describes animals, put a check mark under Animal, if it does
not, put a cross mark. And if it describes plants, put a check mark under Plant, if it does not
put cross mark.

2. Motivation
With the use of Padlet the teacher will show an image of a Tomato Plant and ask the
students with the following questions:
Can you name its parts?
What other plants do you know?
Do they have the same parts as the tomato plant?
Plants have different parts: roots, stem, leaves, flowers and fruits. Each part of plants has
various functions.

ACTIVITY
The teacher will divide the class into 3 groups via google classroom. Each group will be
given a picture of a plants and they are only given 5 minutes to identify its parts and
brainstorm for its certain function. And when the time’s done, each leader of the group will
present their gathered answers in the comment section.

ABSTRACTION
For a better understanding teacher will provide a video which contains the parts of a plant
and its function.
Teacher will pick at least 2 students for an oral recitation to answer the following the
questions:
1. Which part of the plants did you identify that make food?
2. Which plant parts that make seeds?

APPLICATION
Teacher will flash the following on the powerpoint. Students will have to puzzle out the basic
parts of a plant. They have to unscramble the letters.

3. VESEAL
4. WERSFLO
5. RUITSF
6. EDSSE

ASSESSMENT/ASSIGNMENT
Teacher will show to the class a picture of Tomato Plant. And students, in a short bond
paper will draw the plant which is the tomato with its different parts. Next, label the parts.
Lastly, color the drawing and submit it to the google classroom. Make sure to take a very
clear photo of your drawing before submitting it. You may use a scanner to make it more
clear.
