LEARNING TASK/ASSESSMENT
Activity 1
POSITION PAPER
Make a position paper as to how effective on teaching social are the discussed different approaches.
In teaching Social Studies, it is very important to have a different approach in implementing it in the
discussion. In order for the students to learn effectively, teachers must and should have to prepare
strategies that would keep the students engaged with learning and to avoid boredom. They provide
variety learning materials that is best suited to the student’s ability. There are some teachers that would
go beyond the standard approach just to help the students understand thoroughly of what the teacher
tries to infer.
Containing of different approach will help the teachers to impart knowledge to the students
effectively. All the knowledge of a student depends on the teacher that’s how teaching approach
important is. According to Dr.R,Sivakumar on his/her “Journal of Contemporary Educational Research
and Innovation” states that it is the interplay between the teacher and the learner. A teacher of Social
Studies has to be abreast of the innovations in teaching methods. In order to be effective, a teacher of
social studies has to be a source of information, and a guide, an organizer of opportunities for learning
and a person who can stimulate any environment for effective learning using variety of teaching
strategies. With regards to Dr.R,Sivakumar, teacher itself has to acquire competence in implementing
approaches to the teaching of social studies.
There are different approaches to be used but all of them do have the same goal which is to let the
students learn. Different approaches are all effective in teaching not just in social studies but it also
includes in any aspects in learning.
