MODULE 1
LESSON 1.1
ASSESSMENT

Activity 1.
Role call

Using the colors, shapes and sizes given, I was able to form a butterfly. I formed a butterfly because of
the fact that it symbolizes as Hope. Watching a butterfly gently dance on the air from flower to flower is
such a magical to see. It would light up and make us shine a little brighter just by seeing them. That’s how
magical and amazing the butterfly is. I formed a butterfly because as a teacher, I should also be the
reason for my students to light up and shine a little brighter just by seeing me. I want to let them know that
whenever they felt tired from school’s lesson or what may the reason of their struggle, they can always
count on me, someone they can lean on and someone that would light them up. I should not just act as a
teacher only, but also the hope of my students.
Activity 2.
Reflective essay

Make a reflective essay on implementing the K to 12 Curriculum as one of the beneficiaries when you
were in basic education.

The K TO 12 Curriculum itself is a great opportunity to every student. It covers kindergarten and 12
years of basic education (six years of primary education, four years of junior high school and two years of
senior high school) to furnish satisfactory time to master concepts and skills, establish lifelong learners
and prepare graduates for tertiary education, middle-level skills development, employment and
entrepreneurship. K to 12 curriculum aims to equip the students to be globally competitive which is why
this curriculum has been pin as a great opportunity to each of the students. I myself have witnessed the
good purpose of the curriculum itself during my Senior High School (SHS).
I was being exposed to a new kind of environment and the adjustment I had was not that easy. I
considered it as one of the memorable I’ve ever experienced throughout my basic education because of
the fact that during my senior high school, I chose the Technical-Vocational-livelihood(TVL) track and I
can say the experience was indeed great, I faced many challenges and it gives me an opportunity to
undergo immersion. I was able to meet and work with other people, professional people to be precise. I
really did learn a lot during my entire immersion. It indeed boosts my self-confidence in terms of socializing
and talking with other people. A senior high school student has to undergo work immersion in a company
or establishments whose work requirements are related to the specialization. This experienced of mine
really help me enhance my skills, and I am very much thankful that I got to experience the nature of K-12
program.
Above all, it is indeed a great opportunity to every student. Hence, students after graduation is
expected to become a globally competitive and fully equipped with the skills which can help them stand
out on a global scale.
Activity 3.
Reaction paper

Gearing up for the future (Senior high school), one of the salient features of the K-12 Program.
Senior high school is a two years education of your chosen track (academic, technical-vocation-livelihood;
sports and arts). The Academic track includes three strands: Accountancy, Business, Management (ABM);
Humanities, education, social sciences(HESS); and Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics
(STEM). While students who opted the TVL undergo immersion, which may include earn-while-you-learn
opportunities. It gives the students a chance to be exposed in an actual experience of their chosen track.
My reaction to one of the salient features of the K-12 Program is that I’m thankful and happy for
it really help the students discover more about themselves of what they can do and be able to do. It has
indeed a lot of offers and opportunity to every student. I can say that gearing up for the future(Senior High
School) is a big help since students will be more exposed into a real-life experience which is why senior
high students are expected to become “College Ready”. Despite of the disapproval by some in adding
two years of education which is the senior high, I still look at it as an advantage even though it will cause
a long time before they can go to college. I strongly agree that students are expected to become
competitive in all aspects.
Gearing up for the future(Senior High School). I believed, this is one of the most important
ingredients to produce a student that is globally competitive. Aside from that, student cannot proceed to
college without taking the two years education which is senior high. Hence, students must have to take
the senior high school to become a college ready.
Activity 4.
Self-Commitment

Make your commitment as a future facilitator to make quality education possible in our country.

To become a facilitator in the future takes one person a big courage. The learning of every student
depends of how a facilitator facilitates his/her students. Being a facilitator, one must know the strength
and weaknesses of the students. Acknowledge each student’s capability and treat them equally. So, here
are some of my commitment as a future facilitator to make quality education possible in our country.

My commitments:
1. As a future facilitator, I myself will put my students wants, needs, and interests first. No matter what
happens my students will be my number one priority.
2. Promote positive vibes in the classroom. Through this, my students will become more active and
comfortable during class discussion.
3. Promote diversity in the classroom. This is to let my students be informed that each one of them
has their own uniqueness and learn to respect their differences.
4. Help the students discover their hidden talents and skills. Encourage my students to enhance their
talents and skills for it is a gift that nobody could take away.
