What were the key concepts/topics discussed in this module?
Leadership cycle or 360 degree feedback is based on combination of several leadership & behavior theories. This feedback helps train and help the managers or leaders and to improve their output. The Leadership Circle, its uses and the various stages- egocentric, reactive, creative, integral and unitive, and their respective definitions and understanding. The 360 degree feedback tool for assessment of the three reactive styles and the five creative competencies, and the detailed exposition of each of these elements. The use of this tool for placing leadership styles on a reactive-creative scale, examining the utilization of leadership, and measuring its effectiveness. What resonated with you the most? The various aspects of each of the stages of the Leadership Circle. Each of these were distinct and characteristic of their respective stage. Each stage leads to the next, and moving from the stage you're in to the stage above will help you build an organization and culture that can better compete in a complex world. What resonated with you the least? Egocentric stage develops when a leader tends to feel insecure about his position and wants a sense of achievement and respect from his/her subordinates, this can be addressed by securing his needs & wants. What are some insights/ learnings for you as a professional that either reinforce or provide new direction to your leadership style? As we develop through the stages of leadership, we will notice that you become increasingly self-aware. It is also found that your view of the world evolves. The gradual transformation develops your identity, your values and beliefs, and your relationships. At its most potent, leadership is not about compelling others to fall into line with how we think. It is about enabling dialogue, remaining open to new ideas, finding understanding, accommodating differences, and exploring possibilities. Where conflict exists, it is used as a springboard for transformation. Where can you apply the learnings/ insight in your life? We live in a time of great opportunity and great peril. The next 50 years will be pivotal. We could either create a new and vital global order of planetary welfare or destroy ourselves. With their global reach, business leaders play a major role in the world’s future. The evolution of ever more effective and conscious leaders is not only a business imperative as complexity escalates, but a global requirement.
