Materials needed
• USA F-5/ EU 4mm crochet hook
• Yarn needle
• 2 skeins merino wool weight 3 yarn. I’ve used this italian yarn (1.76 oz
= 90 yard):
Abbreviations
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
fpdc = double crochet into front post
bpdc = double crochet into back post
dc2tog = double crochet 2 together
st(s) = stitch (es)
Gauge: 10 sts = 2 ¼"
It's important to obtain the right gauge. Everyone’s tension is different. If
your piece is smaller, try using a larger hook. If it is larger, try using a
smaller hook.

Sweater
Finished size approx.: length – 10”, waist width – 7“
Worked in one piece from top to down.
Directions
Chain 42, join with a slip stitch to begin crocheting in the round (careful
not to twist your stitches).
Round 1: Chain 1, sc in each chain all around, slip stitch at top of first sc.
(42 sts)
Round 2: chain 2, work *1 fpdc in the next stitch, 1 bpdc in the next
stitch, repeat from * all around, slip stitch at top of first dc.
Repeat last round 3 more times.

Increase
Round 6: chain 2, dc in next 2 sts, 3dc in next st, dc in next 4 sts, 3dc in
next st, dc in next 24 sts, 3dc in next st, dc in next 4 sts, 3dc in next st, dc
in next 3 sts, slip stitch at top of first dc. (50 sts)
Round 7: chain 2, dc in next 3 sts, 3dc in next st, dc in next 6 sts, 3dc in
next st, dc in next 26 sts, 3dc in next st, dc in next 6 sts, 3dc in next st, dc
in next 4 sts, slip stitch of first dc. (58 sts)

Sleeves out
Round 13: chain 2, dc in next 10 sts, skip next 18 sts, dc in next 40 sts,

Rounds 14-16: chain 2, dc in each st all around, slip stitch.

Waist decrease
Round 17: chain 2, dc in next 5 sts, dc2tog, dc in next 46 sts, dc2tog, dc in
next 6 sts, slip stitch. (60 sts)
Round 18: chain 2, dc in next 5 sts, dc2tog, dc in next 44 sts, dc2tog, dc in
next 6 sts, slip stitch. (58 sts)
Round 19: chain 2, dc in next 5 sts, dc2tog, dc in next 12 sts, dc2tog, dc in
next 14 sts, dc2tog, dc in next 12 sts, dc2tog, dc in next 6 sts, slip stitch.

Decrease (work back and forth)

Row 1: slip stitch in next 5 sts, ch2, dc2tog, dc in next 39 sts, dc2tog, turn.
(42 sts)
Row 2: ch2, dc2tog, dc in next 37 sts, dc2tog, turn. (40 sts)
Row 3: ch2, dc2tog, dc in next 35 sts, dc2tog, turn. (38 sts)

Rib (work in the round)

Round 1: chain 2, dc all around along the edge of sweater, slip stitch at
top of ch2. You must obtain 56 sts.
Round 2: chain 2, work *1 fpdc in the next stitch, 1 bpdc in the next
stitch, repeat from * all around, slip stitch at top of first dc.
Cut yarn, weave in all ends.
Sleeves rib (optional)
Join yarn at meddle underarm stitch, chain 2, work *1 fpdc in the next
stitch, 1 bpdc in the next stitch, repeat from * all around, slip stitch at top
of first dc. You must obtain 22 sts.
Cut yarn and weave in the end. Make the second sleeve.

Hat
Finished size approx.: length – 4 ½”, waist width – 4 ½”
Worked in one piece from face to neck.

Directions
Face part
Chain 48, join with a slip stitch to begin crocheting in the round (careful
not to twist your stitches).
Round 1: Chain 1, sc in each chain all around, slip stitch at top of first sc.
(48 sts)
Round 2: chain 2, work *1 fpdc in the next stitch, 1 bpdc in the next
stitch, repeat from * all around, slip stitch at top of first dc.
Repeat last round 3 more times.
Round 6: chain 2, dc in each st all around, slip stitch at top of first dc.

Nape part (work back and forth)

Rows 1-5: chain 2, dc in next 12 sts, turn.

Neck (work in the round)

Round 1: Join with sleep sts to 22nd sts of 6th round, chain 2, dc in next 19
sts of “face part”, dc in next 13 sts of “nape part”, slip stitch at top of first
dc. (33 sts)
Rounds 2, 3: chain 2, dc in each st all around, slip stitch at top of first dc.
Cut yarn, weave in all ends.
Make a 2 inches pompom and fasten to the top of hat.
