1.Answer the following questions:


A:Enumerate at least three of the most recent songs you have listened.Where
did they originate? Identify the nationality of the writer and/or artist for each
music.

>The first song i listened is WITH A SMILE by eraserheads song.The song is about a
guy who tries to comfort a troubled girl. There is a scene at the ending where monster
surrounded the girl, then showing up in a place full of happiness after. It shows that the
girl probably found peace after the man helped her, with the lines "Now it's time to kiss
away those tears goodbye".It's also supposedly for children who are suffering
from terminal illnesses.It is about the kids suffering and the tears were wiped away when
their pain was taken away (by passing).The artists of this song is eraserheads.Eraserheads
nationality isTThi Filipino.

>Second was ONE DAY by legendary reggae singer Matisyahu.This is an optimistic


and upbeat song that speaks about hope for a future without war. A future where children
will be able to play in peace, and where violence will not be part of our daily lives. It is
an inspiring song about resilience and having hope in humankind that one day our world
will stop fighting and people will embrace kindness and freedom. Even if the present
involves fear and pain, “One Day” encourages everyone to believe in a future of love and
peace. The song “One Day” was first released as a single in 2008 by American-Jewish
artist Matisyahu (born Matthew Paul Miller), known for his reggae and alternative rock
music and his acting career. Matisyahu is the artist of the song one day.He is an
American artist.

>The third one is MY HEART WILL GO ON by Céline Dion. “My Heart Will Go
On” happens to be the theme song of 1997 movie, Titanic, from the main character
Rose’s perspective. She tells her lover Jack who died in the sinking of the ship, that he
still exists in her heart and mind.The singer talks about the distances and spaces as a
major factor that separates them. Distance, being their social classes; Rose was born into
a rich family, while Jack had little to his name. Again, Jack dies during the sinking of
Titanic, leaving a vast distance between them forever. This is why, the singer stresses that
it doesn’t matter where they both find themselves, but she will continue to love and keep
him in her heart.Céline Marie Claudette Dion born 30 March 1968  is a Canadian singer.
She is noted for her powerful and technically skilled vocals. Dion is the best-selling
Canadian recording artist in history.[5]Born into a large family from Charlemagne,
Quebec, she emerged as a teen star in her home country with a series of French-language
albums during the 1980s.

> Oppo is a Chinese Smartphone and consumer electronics brand that was founded in
Dongguan, China in 2001. Oppo's founder and CEO is Tony Chen. Oppo Company's
parent company is BBK Multinational Corporation Electronics Group.

D.How did you access these music? Did you purchase them online or listen to

discuss:What is Globalization? How would you define
Globalization?
> Globalization is the word used to describe the growing interdependence of the world's
economies, cultures, and populations, brought about by cross-border trade in goods and
services, technology, and flows of investment, people, and information. Globalization
means the speedup of movements and exchanges (of human beings, goods, and services,
capital, technologies or cultural practices) all over the planet. One of the effects of
globalization is that it promotes and increases interactions between different regions and
populations around the globe.

3.What metaphors are you going to use in order to improve your


own definition of Globalization? Enumerate at least three and
explain one of them?

>As with any aspect of world politics, globalization is bound up in metaphors. The
countless and widely varying examples include 'creol- ization', 'flexibilization',
'glocalization', 'McWorld', and 'virtual reality'. Such utterances generate mental
associations that can deeply shape overall knowledge of globalization.
Glocalization is a combination of the words "globalization" and "localization." The
term is used to describe a product or service that is developed and distributed globally but
is also adjusted to accommodate the user or consumer in a local market.
