Objective
To address nursing administrator, decrease staff leaving the position, strengthen relationship between staff
nurse and administrator. Increase structure of the position, modify workflow to a smoother operation of the
nursing administration office. Nursing Department Staffing Office: Central Nursing Operations
Goals for the Initiative:
via improved structure, tools, redesigned workflows, and teamwork:Increased visibility and time spent on
nursing units and other clinical areas Facilitate clinical inquiry, decision making, and action Strengthen and
provide staff support To recruit and retain high quality Nursing Administrators Design a new and improved
tracker
For this Action Learning Project, I met with the Director of Administration as she oversees the administrators
and the operations of the nursing administration as well as the staffing coordinators. I have an appointment
next week to meet the finance officer to discuss budgetary constraints. I also met with the Supervisor of
Staffing Coordinator as she is the one that oversees the staffing coordinators on a day-to-day basis. I also met
with few of the full-time nursing administrators and full-time staffing coordinators individually however, I
have a time slotted to discuss the project next week on the administration monthly meeting where all the
administrators will be on call, and I have requested a time slot for myself for next week for the staffing
coordinator monthly meeting as well
