1. Talk about some causes of animal extinction.

Rapid human developments on earth are driving wildlife population to the brink of
extinction. Firstly, Humans also cause other species to become extinct by hunting.
Secondly, When people cut down forests, build cities, or make roads, they destroy
habitats–the places where plants, animals, and other organisms live. Thirdly,

Humans use thousands of the world’s species in their daily lives for food, shelter, and
medicine. But these natural resources are limited. People can take only so many fish from
the sea or cut down so many acres of forests without permanently damaging ecosystems
and threatening species. For many species, this “overharvesting” may mean total
extinction.

2. Talk about how to protect endangered animals.

As you know, animals play an important part in our environment. They help maintain the
biodiversity in nature. Today many animals are becoming endangered or extinct because
of habitat destruction, overharvesting and poaching. It is high time we must take some
measures to protect endangered animals.

Firstly, we need to improve people's awareness and knowledge. Humans are the leading
cause of the extinction of many animals. All human actions such as hunting, using animal
products,… are seriously affected. Therefore, raising people's awareness must come first.

Secondly, we should launch anti-poaching campaigns that motivate people to stop

hunters and dealers from hunting and trading animals. Moreover, we should go a step
further by not using animal products because there are no buyers, there are no sellers.

Thirdly, the governments all over the world should set up national parks and wild-life
preserves as many as possible. Thanks to these places, animals will have a suitable
habitat to survive and good conditions to grow and multiply. There they can be kept in a
natural and safe environment.

Last but not least, the governments need to ban transportation of and trading in animals,
enforce stricter law with more serious punishment to prevent people from poaching rare
and valuable animals.
In general, protecting animals is not a person's work but it needs the solidarity of human
beings all over the world. I should think each of us has the responsibility for protecting
and saving endangered species before it is too late.

3. Talk about advantages and disadvantages of using intelligent robots.

The use of Intelligent robots is becoming more and more popular in different areas, such
as the food industry and medicine. Besides benefits, we must consider disadvantages
when using them.

There are numerous positive things that intelligent robots bring to our lives. Firstly, they
get involved in industrial production lines that used to require a great human workforce.
They work faster and make less careless mistakes than humans. Secondly, they can work
continuously without having to take break. This helps shorten production time and cost.
In many automobile factories, thousands of manual jobs have been done by robotic
machines with little or no control from humans. Thirdly, robots can replace humans in
doing dangerous or difficult jobs. Lots of robots are designed to dive deep under the sea
to look for and save wrecked ships or damaged planes. In hospitals, some robots can help
doctors discover damaged organs in patients and take care of old patients.

However, A.I. has its own drawbacks. The first one is that robots are designed and
programmed by humans. Therefore, they become useless or disabled due to power
failure. Another disadvantage of A.I. robots is that they could be controlled by hackers.
Furthermore, the robots are not able to act any different from what they are programmed
to do. With the heavy application of robots, the humans may become overly dependent on
the machines, losing their mental capacities. If the control of robots goes in the wrong
hands, the robots may cause the destruction

In conclusion, I suppose that we need to take advantages of A.I to make our life better,
but remember its dangers and risks to take precaution timely.

4. Talk about your plans after leaving high school.

I am in grade 12 at the moment, and I have many plans for my near future. In about only
2 more months, I will attend the biggest exam of a student - the university entrance exam;
and this can be considered as one of the most important milestones in my life. In grade
12, we need to determine our path and which university we want to study, so I also make
a detailed plan for my higher education. I live in a city in mountainous area , so I have to
move to another big city to continue my study. It means that I will live far from my
family for a long time, but I have my preparation to maintain a good life even without my
parents’ care. I learn to cook the main dishes from my mother, and my father is teaching
me to fix some of the simple households as well as riding a motorbike. I intend to look
for a part time job after I am settled down at the new place, so I really need to get a
driving license so I could be initiative with my travel. I will try to cover a part of my
expenses to reduce my parents’ pressure, but I will always keep my study as my first
priority. My next four - year plan is all about studying and taking a good care of myself
when I am away from home. There will be many bigger things coming after I graduation,
but I am sure that I can handle them well if I have a good preparation.

5. Talk about your future job

My Future Job

Since I become a teenager, I have thinking a lot about my own future job and setting goal
for it. It’s very necessary and important for me now to decide what I want to become. In t
he past, I use to want to be an engineer because I’m good at drawing and build stuff but
my thought changed through time; I end up all of my choices as a manager who manages
the whole system in the service hotel. I have planned that I will finish my life in high sch
ool, finish high school
with a high score. After that, I will move to a good school in Hanoi
to learn about business and the economy in my country. During my life in university I pro
perly will apply to work for some small store and hotel to have the feeling of how things
work in the “real life”.

Firstly, the reason I like to be a hotel manager is I find it interest to use technique to persu
ade more people to stay at the hotel.

Secondly, I saw that the tertiary in business is the fastest growing in sectors of industry b
eside the primary and the secondary, so I can make a lot of money.

Thirdly, it’s the range of community; it has a very high range to meet different people wit
h different nationality.

Fourthly, I want to have more confidence and become a good leader with skill, for examp
le: I still can’t control and persuade people to listen to me some time when I’m in charge
of P. E’s lesson.

Last but not least, in more details, manage a hotel means I have to apply more services fo
r my dear quest; know and motivate people who work for me so they always in a good m
ood to work for my hotel. More hotels are equal to more competition, therefore I have to
apply many advertising technique by using: Internet, poster, discount… etc, to keep my
market shares and people will stay and become “close consumer” in my hotel. I also need
to have an “Idea of perfect- service”; to understand the wants of costumer and why they d
on’t like our products and service to fix and become better. A manager is not an easy job
in the future for me. Also my family knows that it isn’t a “flat road” for me to walk in but
I want to be a successful in my future job, be an active person to development my country
and useful to my family. I will try my best to get more knowledge and gain more differen
t skills to meet my goal.
6. Talk about some skills and qualities you need to have for getting a job.

In today's modern society, working capacity of people are evaluated not only on
knowledge but also to combine both soft skills and qualities while working,
communicating with people. Through it, the soft skills will determine your advancement
in the future. There are several different skills that are important to have no matter what
the job you are in search of or already have such as interpersonal skills; flexibility;
adaptablity; confidence; leadership ability;…

To begin with, interpersonal skills are really crucial when seeking employment.
They are the skills that people use to interact with each other. People with good
interpersonal skills often co-operate and work well with the others in a team. They are
also good at negotiating and satisfying the expectations of the people involved. In their
daily work, interpersonal skills allow them to empathise with colleagues as well as
clients, thereby building better working relationships. This, as a result, leads to a better
working environment with little or no stress.

Flexibility leads to being a reliable and responsibility. You want to be a able to

rely and trust other employees to do what they need to do, so you can do what you need
to do. In order to be reliable you need accomplish tasks in a timely manner and stick
with dues dates; finish projects ahead of time for bonus points, which will also take some
stress off you.

Finally, adaptability. You need to be able to adapt and work around any given
problem; which means you need to be able to be resourceful and have excellent problem
solving skills. To be adaptable would also include efficiently completing your work
under stress, new environments, new coworkers and with limited resources

These are some of the top skills I have found to be most important to employers
that everyone should have to have the opportunity to study and work in their favorite
environment

Sample 2:

Before you have a job you need to have some skills that help you interact and get along
well with others. Here are some skills and qualities that will be needed no matter what
job you choose.

First of all, the ability to communicate effectively is one of the most essential skills for
the workforce. No matter the job or field, communication is required both inside and
outside an organization. The ability to communicate effectively — both verbally and in
writing — is both essential and rare. Those with strong communication skills are in high
demand, regardless of the job or industry. You need to be able to communicate
successfully with employees, managers, and customers inperson, online, in
writing, and/or over the phone. The next skill that most jobs will require is teamwork and
collaboration between employees. Young adults must have the ability to work in a team
structure. Teamwork requires employees to foster relationships with their bosses and
coworkers and to be socially aware of the context of these relationships. Your level of
teamwork indicates your ability to collaborate effectively with a wide variety of people.
Last but not least, creativity is also very important for all jobs. As humans, we have this
amazing ability to be creative, imagine, and invent new things. Creativity boosts
innovation, which results in economic growth. It’s fresh thinking that will give
companies a competitive advantage so every company will want creative employees in
the future.  It’s important to realize that creativity isn’t the sole skill of artists. Creativity
can be improved and fostered in anyone’s life.

In conclusion, no matter what you study in school or what path you take after high
school, you can work to learn these skills to help you be successful in the workplace.

7. Imagine you are allowed to take a gap year out after finishing school. What will you do
in your gap year?

Sample 1:

As you can see, the gap year has become popular in Vietnam recently, students usually
take a gap year so that they can achieve growth in maturity and are better prepared to
benefit from higher education or decide the form of education they wish to pursue.
Personally, as an art-minded person, if I am allowed to take a gap year after graduating
high school, the first thing I think I will do is try to learn new things relating to art such
as painting or playing a new musical instrument. I always wanted to try learning electric
guitar. If my financial conditions are eligible, I will travel, explore the world, Vietnamese
people have a proverb: Go out one day and come back with a basket full of wisdom. Even
if you notice it or not, every trip gives you the knowledge and develops your independent
living skills. The last thing I will do is maybe find a job to gain experience and skills. No
matter what I do, learn to take care of myself is the most important thing.

Sample 2:

It’s a good idea to take a gap year. A year out between school or college and higher
education or employment, or between higher education and a job, can give me useful
learning experiences, helps me pick up new skills and makes me more independent. If
I’m allowed to take a gap year, I will:

- Choose to do voluntary work. There are plenty of gap year volunteer work options to
choose from. This could include teaching in the mountainous areas, a conservation
project in Cúc Phương or an expedition in Sơn Đoòng.

- Take part in some part-time courses. I can take up a new language, learn how to
programme, try a new sport or music instrument, or learn a new practical skill, such as
mechanics, carpentry, or cookery.
- Gain relevant experience and skills for a particular career or subject I plan to study, I
can consider a work placement or internship. These can last from a few weeks to a year.
Depending on the type of contract on offer.

In short, a gap year can kickstart motivation, teach valuable life skills, hone resumes into
killer shape, and open doors to future opportunities.

8. People say that someone can become successful without a university degree, do you
agree with this opinion? Why/why not?

Sample 1:

There are some who think that they can still succeed without a university degree. I do not
completely agree with this opinion.

First, with a college degree, you can get a job more easily. There is a saying: "college is
not the only way but the easiest way to success". If you don't have a college degree and
you think you will still be as successful as Peter Jackson or Henry Ford, you really have
to be talented and know how to seize the opportunity to succeed like them.

Second, you will have the knowledge to choose from. The university will teach you a lot
of knowledge from practice to academia, helping you to have an overall and deeper
insight so you'll have more sophisticated knowledge and choices in all areas from
mortgage interest, car loans, retirement planning, and investment options.

Finally, with a university degree, you can apply for a job at a large company with a
salary according to your ability. You will have the opportunity to experience the working
environment with your dream job.

With the above points of view, I think that it is very difficult for you to be successful
without a college degree unless you have to be truly talented, talented and know to take
chances in life.

Sample 2:

On my own view, I completely agree with this opinion.

Firstly, learning at a university can help you acquire knowledge professionally, however,
learning from the outside of a university is also important. You can obtain lots of skills
that people in the university can’t teach you such as communication skills, time
management skills, how to lead a avtive life and be pleased by everyone.

Secondly, not only the university can make you success, if you have the oppturnity,
qualification, and some lucky, you can success on your own way without pursuing any
education institution. No matter how much you know, what is essential is that how you
can do with your knowledge.

Last but not least, there are so many people unployed after graduating the university. It
gives the evidence to the opinion that not any person graduating the university can success.
The enormous proportion of success is depend on your attempter, determination, and your
own knowledge. If you know how to control your skills and comprehension wisely, you
can be an outstanding pioneer.

In conclusion, everyone can success on their own way, it doesn’t depend on whether you
study in the university or not
