The increase of Covid-19 in Indonesia has reached the peak of this week. As we know
that this country has been defended the disease amount in March 2020. We ever see the
decrease of graphics several months ago but this week second waves are coming and people
faced a more complicated problem, namely the scarcity of oxygen for patients exposed to
COVID-19. As we know, oxygen is used to increase the oxidation levels in the blood, the
saturation may improve and purify the human respiratory. This new addition of Covid-19 has
made our health facilities unable to rescue all patients' needs at the same time. No Wonder,
along with the surge in COVID-19 cases a need for medical oxygen has increased. Not only
from the hospital, this depletion also happens for those who in self-isolation or people who
have congenital diseases. People now are competing to find the filling oxygen for hours just
to get medical oxygen for their families were exposed by Covid-19. This situation has to lead
a shortage of oxygen on the market. The impact, the patient of Covid-19 are getting worse
and the death has increased. Through the Java-Bali Emergency Coordinator (PPKM) Luhut
Binsar Panjaitan, there was indeed a shortage of oxygen in several hospitals due to a demand
3-4 times from usual. He said the health mister and government immediately mobilized the
issue, and find the best solution to anticipate the fatal situation. According to line issues
(Syifa, 2021) Indonesia is now reported sourcing emergency oxygen for virus patients from
neighboring Singapore and calling for help from other nations including China with the
country slammed by its deadliest Covid-19 wave, the government said Tuesday, 6 July 2021.
Around 10,000 concentrators -- devices that generate oxygen -- were to be shipped from the
city-state with some arriving by a Hercules cargo plane. "We have communicated with
Singapore, China, and other sources" for help, Coordinating Maritime Affairs and Investment
Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said, quoted by AFP. Luhut ordered all the nation's oxygen
supplies sent to hospitals overflowing with coronavirus patients on Monday, warning
Indonesia could face a "worst-case scenario" where infections skyrocket to 50,000 a day, a
crisis driven by the highly infectious Delta variant. Previously, the distribution of oxygen
supply for medical and industrial purposes was 40:60. The Ministry of Industry changed the
ratio of oxygen use to 60:40 between medical needs and industrial needs.
