CANNABIS vs TOBACCO

Analysis of a scholarly article

All in all, while both tobacco and cannabis smoke have comparable properties artificially,

their pharmacological exercises contrast significantly. Parts of cannabis smoke limit some cancer-

causing pathways while tobacco smoke upgrades a few. The two kinds of smoke contain cancer-

causing agents and particulate matter that advances provocative resistant reactions that may

upgrade the cancer-causing impacts of the smoke. Notwithstanding, cannabis normally down-

directs immunologically-created free extreme creation by advancing a Th2 safe cytokine profile.

Besides, THC hinders the protein important to enact a portion of the cancer-causing agents found

in smoke. Conversely, tobacco smoke improves the probability of carcinogenesis by conquering

ordinary cell designated spot defensive instruments through the movement of respiratory epithelial

cell nicotine receptors. Cannabinoid’s receptors have not been accounted for in respiratory

epithelial cell and henceforth the DNA harm designated spot system ought to stay unblemished

after delayed cannabis openness. Besides, nicotine advances tumor angiogenesis though cannabis

represses it. It is conceivable that as the cannabis-devouring populace ages, the drawn-out

outcomes of smoking cannabis may turn out to be more like what is seen with tobacco. In any case,

current information doesn't propose that cannabis smoke will have a cancer-causing potential

practically identical to that subsequent from openness to tobacco smoke. (Austin Bluffs Parkway,

2005)

Analysis of a popular article

While cigarette smoking is the top danger factor for cellular breakdown in the lungs, some

of logical proof recommends there's no connection between weed smoking and cellular breakdown.

That is as indicated by a 2017 administrative report that gathered together almost twenty years of

studies on marijuana, research that has been restricted by the government's arrangement of pot as

a controlled substance like heroine. While cigarette smoking is a significant reason for coronary

illness, the report closed it's hazy whether marijuana use is related with respiratory failures or

strokes. Be that as it may, there's solid proof connecting long haul cannabis smoking to more

terrible hacks and more continuous episodes of persistent bronchitis, as indicated by the report

from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine.

COMPARISON AND CONTRAST

A clear comparison could easily be drawn between the two articles in terms of similarity

where they state that smoke of both kinds is equally harmful to the lungs but tobacco smoke paves

the cancer-causing pathways more than cannabis does because tobacco smoke improves the

probability of carcinogenesis by conquering ordinary cell designated spot defensive instruments

through the movement of respiratory epithelial cell nicotine receptors as mentioned in the first

scholarly article. Nevertheless, cannabis has also proved to provide some medicinal benefits and

advantages to the body which compensates for its hazardousness as little as it can. Both articles

mention that there is no concrete evidence on the matter where cannabis smoke could have

identical cancer-causing potential to that to the consequent openness of tobacco smoke. Another

thing mentioned by both articles was that consistent consumption of cannabis can have a possible

tendency to provide a person with serious psychological disorders like schizophrenia and

continuous episodes of persistent bronchitis in context of damage to the lungs.

Cannabis could heavily imbalance the pre-frontal lobe in comparison to tobacco heavily damaging

the lungs.

In terms of contrast, very little information is given regarding the contents of both products

and what changes take place in the body when one is consumed with regard to probability of

carcinogenesis, unlike the scholarly article. In particular error, the popular article does state that

there is no connection between cannabis and cellular breakdown but the scholarly article very

clearly addresses in its study that it is indeed not true. Cannabis smoke does produce more damage

to cells than tobacco smoke aside from an increased risk of lung and respiratory diseases. This

shows that the author’s derivations were not logically following the facts except where they

mention that long consumption of cannabis could be more harmful and tobacco smoke damages

the lungs at a quicker rate than cannabis smoke, luckily there has been no sign of alternate

explanations throughout the popular article. The popular article does mention what a few studies

have derived and simply names the departments which indicates where they derived the

information for their article from, a few spoken sentences have also been mentioned into quotes

but no evidence of articulate citation throughout the article or a basic reference list towards the

end.

There is a scope for future research that these articles give rise to; that being exploration in

areas to look for consistent evidence for serious physical health or fertility consequences of

marijuana use because far more information is available on harm that tobacco causes the lungs as

well as the harm that cannabis causes the brain but zero concerning this.
