Reaction paper:

In visiting the National Museum and National Art Gallery website, I see many works of
people that are gifted in terms of creating arts. While viewing all the arts in the museum,
my eyes focus on the works of Juan Luna Y Novicio. I became interested while viewing
his works because I knew that it's not easy to attain the skill he had in paintings and he
work hard for every piece. It inspires me in his painting because it’s hard to blend the
color and create a wonderful painting. I remember that I try to paint something in my
mind but the result is very different from what I think. Even though that I don’t have any
talent in arts but I still try my best in doing it in my mind. So that I come up that, Juan
Luna is a blessed person and talented person, we see in his work that he sacrifice many
things and time to create beautiful art. He excelled in this profession because he was
influenced by his brother, Manuel N. Luna. Also, according to the Filipino patriot that
Jose Rizal is better than Juan Luna in terms of art.

I’m amazed by this person because besides his talent in painting, he also became a
sculptor and political activist in the time of "Himagsikan". We all know that the art form
of all his works is paintings. The greatest painting of Juan Luna is the Spolarium. He
indicates this painting to awake our people in being ignorant, blind, mentally dark, and
oppressed in the time that we are colonized by the Spaniards. Also, the Spolarium is the
masterpiece of Juan Luna. Another famous painting of Juan Luna is the "Assassination”
of Governador Bustamante" that we can see in the National Art Gallery with the
Spolarium. This is the largest know Luna's Contemporary art and he makes this art with
the help of his friend, Félix Resurrección Hidalgo. They make this art to remember the
incident wherein Governador Heneral in our country was assassinated by the church
because he is against them in the aggressive action. Also, one of the famous paintings
is the "Death of Cleopatra". I learn in visiting the website of the National Art Gallery that
there is any form of art and you will see the different art movements. I realized that
when I visit the website of the museum is a lot of people in this country had great talent
in terms of arts and skill. They also have a high intelligence because we all know that
it's difficult to give meaning to one object especially in your artworks and it's also hard to
think of a particular subject in your art. It inspires me to keep pushing in my life because
in arts before you attain great work, you need to pass in many trials before you
achieved it. So I come up that to try my best in my life even it is a hard or simple thing
and in the problem that I will face in the future.
