Data Gathering Procedure

The study began by collecting recycled materials and other materials that are needed in this
experiment. The researchers started to assemble all the materials to make the Garbage collecting
machine. After building it, they tested the machine into a water pool with garbage to record the
results. The study was conducted at the private residence of one of the researchers Panganiban St.
Cebu City near Glojam Apartelle.

Procedures:

1. Prepare a 2x20x30 cm Styrofoam

2. Measure the center of the Styrofoam and cut a rectangular opening at the right side.
3. Attach two rubber wheels at the end of a metal stick and insert plastic cubes beside the wheels.
Do the same at the other one.
4. Using a recycled tip from a pen, attach it at the other end of the metal sticks and connect them in
both sides of a 100 RPM Gear Motor.
5. Place the Gear Motor into the rectangular opening and stick it using stick glue. At the other side of
the Styrofoam, stick plastic tubes for the metal stick.
6. Attach the metal stick and insert two rubber wheels at both ends.
7. Cut 2 15-inches of grip liners. Using the grip liner, make a continuous track in different sides of the
wheels.
8. Put holes in both tips of a recycled marker. Attach a 100 RPM Gear Motor in one side and another
for the other side.
9. Stick the Gear Motors in a marker at the side of the Styrofoam, across the rectangular opening.
Stick a 2-inch grip liner in both ends of the marker.
10. Cut 2 7-inches pieces of sunboard sheets and pierce one hole at the side.
11. Put one 7-inches sunboard sheet at one of the Gear Motors, do the same at the other side and
stick it with shoes glue. Stick another 1-inch sunboard sheets beside it and in the other.
12. At the other end of the sunboard sheet, attach another recycled marker in both holes and insert
a metal stick inside the holes.
13. Cut 3 3.5-inches of sunboard sheets. Place the three sunboard sheets in the middle of both 7-
inches sunboard sheets and stick them by 2 inches apart.
14. Cut 1 14-inches of grip liner. Place the grip liner in both markers and make a continuous track.
15. Cut 3 6-inches of sunboard sheets. Place it beside both Gear Motors and one above to make a big
box for the garbage and place the wires of the gear motors below it to put in on the other side.
16. Cut 1 2-inches and 3 3-inches of sunboard sheets. Assemble them to make a little box and make
sure to put a little hole at the bottom of the back for the wires. Put the little box at the back of the
big box.
17. Connect the wires of the two Gear Motors and connect it into the switch and also connect the
wire of the other motor gear to a different switch. Stick the both switches in both sides at the back
of the big box.
18. Connect a battery connector at the Gear Motor and connect a Rechargeable Battery. Place the
battery inside the little box and test the switches.
19. Cut a 3x5 inches of sunboard sheet and four 3-inches sticks. Assemble it to make a roof to cover
the little box.
20. Test the machine into a water pool with garbage.
The Researchers used the following materials:
