The ICPNA Volunteering Program is an abuse

The demand for studying at ICPNA is incredibly dropping! As a complete disagreement to

provide 10 hours of virtual help to graduate from ICPNA. It was a very sudden decision that
only causes indignation. Even though, they justified their proposal to save personnel and
consequently improve the ICPNA infrastructure, the inmediate long-term negative results
would not be worth the money saved by factors such as prestige and tremendous
disorganization.

First, despite it is true that many basic students need virtual help, this is not a reason to enlist
the help of students who are going to graduate from ICPNA because advanced students are
more likely to have more obligations than lower-level students. “It’s devastating that people
who doesn´t have too much time have to do it,” said Marie Porter, who always take care of his
grandfather and disagreed about giving ten hours to virtual help. A very good solution would
be to increase the monthly payment by 1 sol or 2 soles to hire virtual help personnel.

Second, some people are aware that they could gain more experience by fulfilling the virtual
help. “I had the experience of implementing this volunteer program in another academy in
another country and the result was disastrous, most of the advanced 12 students presented
complaints to the basic students for not paying attention, insulting, practical jokes, etc.”, said
Mr. Johnson, who has been an English Teacher over 40 years.

Finally, even though the volunteer program was justified for supposed good reasons, it was not
as expected. We now know that students should be listened to as being the heart of the
academy and always analyze the consequences for the future. Should ICPNA Volunteering
program continue to run?
