Statement of Health and Safety Policy

It is the policy of Al Bawani Co. Ltd. (the Company) that the operations of the Company are executed and managed at all times in such
a manner so as to ensure as far as reasonable practicable, the health and safety at work of all the Company employees and all other
persons including sub - contractor and members of the public who may be affected by the company’s operation.
Al Bawani provides quality and assured, high scale development through out Saudi Arabia. The board of management regard the
promotion of occupational health safety and welfare as a priority at all levels within its organization.
Al Bawani is therefore committed to:
 Improving site management and best practices so as to provide a safe and healthy work environment in compliance with
the relevant regularity, legislative and cooperate requirements, including the OSHAS 18001 international management
system and standard for health and safety;
 Identifying hazards and hierarchy of control to eliminated or reduce, as far as reasonable practicable, any risk identified
so as to prevent injury and ill health.
 Meeting its obligations to employees and other interested parties on health and safety matters and encouraging
employees to participates in health and safety management system;
 Continual improvement and performance measurement, by setting and reviewing on regular basis health and safety
objectives,targets and management programs at all levels within their company;
 Ensuring through appropriate training, planning and communication, that all personnel on site are aware of their
responsibilities regarding health and safety and are competent to perform their job.

The success of this policy requires the commitment from all employees and contractor. It is the responsibility of each
employees to observe all health and safety rules and procedures and co-operate with its statutory obligations.Employees must
be aware at all times of the responsibility that they have for both their own safety and safety of others.
Responsibility of implementation of the site policy lies with the Project Manger’s and site management. Who ensures through
the General Manager and site management that the objective of the health and safety policy are met.This health and safety
policy is communicated, implemented and maintained at all level of the organization. It is periodically reviewed and revised to
ensure it is continuing suitability and adequacy, and is available to external in interested parties upon request.
 In order to implement and enforce this policy vigorously, the company has established a site management structure changed
with specific responsibility for controlling all aspects of health and safety. Further, the company has developed an organization
chart showing the company site management structure as included in section 2.
 A more detailed Company management structure is available in the Company QA Manual. The Company recognizes the
importance and values of Co-operation from employees at all levels within the organization and also from its sub-contractor
and suppliers. Details of the duties assigned to employees , sub - contractors and suppliers are listed in Section 2. The duties
detailed are also expectations by the Company of how employees will fulfil their obligations regarding arranging and
administering construction work activities. This includes, but without limitation, owners representatives, employees of the
consultant, suppliers representatives and agents of regulatory or inspecting authorities. To this end all of those mentioned are
expected to report to security gates and make themselves known to site management or site safety staff before entering any
construction site of the Company.
 The Company will make every effort to ensure that operations not under its control on the project, which might be carried out
by other contractors and will not endanger the safety of personnel or sub contractor’s engaged on the project. To this end all
employees engaged in tasks or operations which have interfaces with others must report hazardous activities or unsafe
situations or conditions to their Supervisors or Engineers who will inform the safety department.
 The Company’s senior management gives full support to the Project Director, his construction management team and the
safety department in the implementation of the provisions of the plan and will make all necessary resources available to
ensure this becomes a reality.
 The Company’s HSE Manual will be issued as a mandatory document to the recipients noted on the distribution list and will be
made available on site for perusal and information by all site supervisory staff. The contents, main points and thrust of the plan
should be relayed to the workforce at inductions, method statement briefings and toolbox talks ass required. Visitors to the
site should also be informed that the plan is in place and they should be afforded an opportunity to view the contents if
necessary.
 Each project HSE plan is revised and updated as the project develops and as different works are about to proceed, the hazards
and risks of a particular task are identified and included in the safety plan, no works will proceed until the revision is included
and expected by the safety team, project manager, engineer and owner.
 Al Bawani are also committed to following the requirement of the client at all the times and will ensure that all personnel, sub
contractors and others concerned will comply with all safety requirement at all times. The safety department will appoint
 competent, experienced personnel for the day to day safety management of the project. These personnel will be experience
and qualified safety personnel with knowledge of the safety project.
All safety personnel will be made aware of the requirement of the project as detailed in the tender document and contract
agreement.On award of contract, the company will carry out a full and detailed hazard and risk assessment of the proposed work
area, which will also include the safety measures we purpose to take to eliminate or reduce the risk. These assessments will be
included in the safety plan for assessment and approval of the control measures by the consultant and client.
 A detailed traffic management plan will be designed and implemented in accordance with the requirement of the client and
consultant.This will involve full hazard identification and risk assessment and approved control measures to be implemented
vigorously.

 A detailed safe plan of work will be completed and implemented in accordance with the requirement of the of the client and
consultant and prior to any works commencing. This will involve full hazard identification and risk assessment and approved

 The Company operates a no smoking policy on their projects and this will be vigorously enforced throughout the duration of
the project. The Company will operate within the working hours and days as allows, if work is required outside of this time,
prior approval will be requested through the consultant. All personnel working on behalf of the Company will wear
identification tags and uniform at all times, any person found without these items will be immediately dismissed from the
project.
 The Company will provide suitable accommodation for all of their personnel, which will be inspected weekly by a member of
the safety team and any faults or defects will be reported to the accommodation manager and repaired or replaced
immediately. Any work which may affect or obstruct other Company’s works will be coordinated and planned with the relevant
personnel through a pre- commencement meeting. All issues will be discussed and relevant controls agreed and put in place.
 The Company is committed to ensuring that all relevant personnel are trained and experienced. All personnel who enter the
site are included, TBTs are carried out weekly, operators of plant are required to be assessed and accredited by a third party.
Fire training and first aid training is arranged on regular basis, IOSH training is arranged for personnel who have a role in which
safety is key element.
 The Company is committed to delivering an excellent project, on time, in budget and with the highest safety standards
pursuant to applicable laws.
