Introduction to World Religion & Belief Systems Quarter 1 - Week 1

Activity 1:

a. What is the most important thing in their life? Let them explain briefly.

As the most important thing in life, happiness has to be everyone's priority in life. That defines a
person's life quality. After all, it's not money, But the memories and experiences that one has gathered,
to remember from life matters the most.

b. What values (ex. honesty, simplicity, God-fearing, etc) they would like you to follow? Why?

God-fearing. it is the most important value for me because when you fear God, good things or values
just like honesty and simpliciy will follow

c. Ask them about their idea of God?

My parents always taught us children to be God fearing in any aspect in life.They believe that God will
always be our holy saviour in what ever challenges we may encounter in life. Because God is
everything ,God is undefined because of his supreme power,God is forgiveness and God is the creator.

Activity 2.

Critical Thinking Questions:

1. What does the song “Who am I?” say about who we are as a person?

In the song we are described as people who sins and people who only life temporarily.

2. What kind of God is presented in the song? Why?

Jesus, Our savior and only God.

3. How does faith in God provide answers to life’s questions? Give example from your concrete
experiences.

As someone once suffered from anxiety and depression God gave me peace and made me love myself
by cradling me in his arms and telling me by the use of the bible that with every problem I face he will be
there.
Activity 3:

1. What did you discover after accomplishing the task?

I discovered that I had a good habit that I should appreciate.

2. What did you feel when you encountered these situations? Which specific part of our discussion did
you apply in your situation?

Belief system helps us to interpret our everyday reality. This could be in the form of religion, political
affiliation, philosophy, or spirituality, among many other things.

3. As a student, how does your own belief system help you to become who you are at the moment?

I will appreciate what and who I am because when you have confidence in yourself you can achieve your
dream in your life.

Activity 4:

Religion is a social-cultural system of designated behaviors and practices, morals, beliefs, worldviews,
texts, sanctified places, prophecies, ethics, or organizations, that relates humanity to supernatural,
transcendental, and spiritual elements; however, there is no scholarly consensus over what precisely
constitutes a religion. a supernatural being or supernatural beings Religious practices may include
rituals, sermons, commemoration or veneration, sacrifices, festivals, feasts, trances, initiations, funerary
services, matrimonial services, meditation, prayer, music, art, dance, public service, or other aspects of
human culture. Religions have sacred histories and narratives, which may be preserved in sacred
scriptures, and symbols and holy places, that aim mostly to give a meaning to life. Religions may contain
symbolic stories, which are sometimes said by followers to be true, that may also attempt to explain the
origin of life, the universe, and other phenomena. Traditionally, faith, in addition to reason, has been
considered a source of religious beliefs.
