INFORMACION DEL PROFESOR:

A Mind Map is a diagram used to visually organize information. A

mind map is hierarchical and shows relationships among pieces of the
whole. It is often created around a single concept, drawn as an image in
the center of a blank page, to which associated representations of ideas
such as images, words and parts of words are added. Major ideas are
connected directly to the central concept, and other ideas branch out
from those major ideas. Mind maps can also be drawn by hand, either as
"notes" during a lecture, meeting or planning session, for example, or as
higher quality pictures when more time is available. Mind maps are
considered to be a type of spider diagram. A similar concept in the 1970s
was "idea sun bursting".

How to create a mind map in 5 steps

When creating a mind map, there are several elements to consider,

such as the map´s central idea, branches, colors, key words and images.
The 5 Steps are: 1. Create a central Idea. The central idea is the starting
point of your mind map and represents the topic you are going to
explore…; 2) Add branches to your map…; 3) Add keywords; 4) Color code
your branches…, and 5) Include visual sgnifiers (e.g. images).

Differences from other visualizations

Concept maps: Mind maps differ from concept maps in that mind
maps focus on only one word or idea, whereas concept maps connect
multiple words or ideas. Also, concept maps typically have text labels on
their connecting lines/arms. Mind maps are based on radial hierarchies
and tree structures denoting relationships with a central governing
concept, whereas concept maps are based on connections between
concepts in more diverse patterns. However, either can be part of a larger
personal knowledge base system.
 Modelling graphs: There is no rigorous right or wrong with mind maps,
relying on the arbitrariness of mnemonic systems. A UML diagram or a
semantic network has structured elements modelling relationships, with
lines connecting objects to indicate relationship. This is generally done in
black and white with a clear and agreed iconography. Mind maps serve a
different purpose: they help with memory and organization. Mind maps
are collections of words structured by the mental context of the author
with visual mnemonics, and, through the use of colour, icons and visual
links, are informal and necessary to the proper functioning of the mind
map.

Un mapa mental es un diagrama que se utiliza para organizar visualmente la

información. Un mapa mental es jerárquico y muestra las relaciones entre las
partes del todo. A menudo se crea en torno a un solo concepto, dibujado como
una imagen en el centro de una página en blanco, al que se agregan
representaciones asociadas de ideas como imágenes, palabras y partes de
palabras. Las ideas principales están conectadas directamente con el concepto
central y otras ideas se derivan de esas ideas principales. Los mapas mentales
también se pueden dibujar a mano, ya sea como "notas" durante una
conferencia, reunión o sesión de planificación, por ejemplo, o como imágenes
de mayor calidad cuando hay más tiempo disponible. Los mapas mentales se
consideran un tipo de diagrama de araña. Un concepto similar en la década de
1970 era "la idea del sol estallando".

 CÓMO CREAR UN MAPA MENTAL EN 5 PASOS

Al crear un mapa mental, hay varios elementos a considerar, como la idea

central del mapa, ramas, colores, palabras clave e imágenes. Los 5 pasos son:
1. Crear una idea central. La idea central es el punto de partida de tu mapa
mental y representa el tema que vas a explorar…; 2) Agregue ramas a su
mapa…; 3) Agregue palabras clave; 4) Codifique con colores sus ramas ... y 5)
Incluya identificadores visuales (por ejemplo, imágenes).

 DIFERENCIAS CON OTRAS VISUALIZACIONES

Mapas conceptuales: los mapas mentales se diferencian de los mapas

conceptuales en que los mapas mentales se centran en una sola palabra o
idea, mientras que los mapas conceptuales conectan varias palabras o ideas.
Además, los mapas conceptuales suelen tener etiquetas de texto en sus
líneas / brazos de conexión. Los mapas mentales se basan en jerarquías
radiales y estructuras de árbol que denotan relaciones con un concepto central
de gobierno, mientras que los mapas conceptuales se basan en conexiones
entre conceptos en patrones más diversos. Sin embargo, ambos pueden formar
parte de un sistema de base de conocimientos personal más amplio.

Gráficos de modelado: No existe un riguroso bien o mal con los mapas

mentales, dependiendo de la arbitrariedad de los sistemas mnemónicos. Un
diagrama UML o una red semántica tiene elementos estructurados que
modelan relaciones, con líneas que conectan objetos para indicar la relación.
Generalmente se hace en blanco y negro con una iconografía clara y
consensuada. Los mapas mentales tienen un propósito diferente: ayudan con
la memoria y la organización. Los mapas mentales son colecciones de palabras
estructuradas por el contexto mental del autor con mnemotécnicas visuales y,
mediante el uso de colores, iconos y enlaces visuales, son informales y
necesarios para el correcto funcionamiento del mapa mental.
