Ethanol is best known for the alcohol in alcoholic beverages. Ethanol is produced
both as a petrochemical, through the hydration of ethylene, and biologically, by
fermenting sugars with yeast.
Ethanol also known as ethyl alcohol because it is commonly known as the alcohol found
in alcoholic beverages. It is a flammable, colorless, and slightly toxic chemical with the
molecular formula C2H5OH.
Ethanol; Ethanol, a colorless liquid with a pleasant smell that is produced naturally from
fermentation by yeasts and other microorganisms. It is used in alcoholic beverages, as a
solvent, and in the manufacture of other chemicals.
