GLOBAL REMITTANCES
Released by World Bank’s Migration and Development Brief
About the report The Bretton Woods Conference held in 1944,
created the International Bank for
Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) along
with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The IBRD later became the World Bank. It has
189 member countries. India is also a member
country.
India Received over USD 83 billion in remittances in
2020. In 2019, India had received USD 83.3
billion in remittances
Global Remittances China is second in terms of global remittances in
2020 and received USD 59.5 billion.
Remittance outflow maximum from the United States (USD 68
billion), followed by UAE, Saudi Arabia,
Switzerland, Germany, and China.

EASE OF LIVING INDEX


Released by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs
(MoHUA)
About the report The ministry has introduced a revision in the
latest edition of EoLI. In Ease of living Index
2018, input and output parameters were put
together to assess citizens’ ease of living.
However, in 2020, the input parameters are
incorporated into a new index called the
‘Municipal Performance Index’.

GLOBAL GENDER GAP REPORT 2021
Released by The World Economic Forum
About the WEF The World Economic Forum is the
International Organization for Public-Private
Cooperation.
It was established in 1971 as a not-for-profit
foundation and is headquartered in Geneva,
Switzerland. The report was first published
in 2006 by the WEF. It benchmarks 156
countries on their progress towards gender
parity in four dimensions.
India’s Rank Overall- India is now one of the worst
performers in South Asia, it is now ranked
140 among 156 countries.
Health and Survival index- India has fared
the worst, ranking at 155.The only country
to have fared worse is China.
Education Attainment-India has been ranked
at 114.
Political Empowerment- ranking at 51 in
women’s participation in politics.

CORRUPTION PERCEPTION INDEX


Released by Transparency International.
About the report Transparency International is an
international non -governmental
organisation founded in 1993 based in
Berlin, Germany
its non profit purpose is to take action to
combat global Corruption with civil societal

criminal activities arising from corruption.

by Reporters Sans Frontieres (RSF) or
Reporters Without Borders.
Top country Norway has topped yet again for the fifth
year in the row.

WORLD HAPPINESS REPORT

for the United Nations.
About the report The United Nations started to celebrate the
International Day of Happiness in 2013 but a
resolution for the same was passed in July,
2012.
This resolution was first initiated by Bhutan
which emphasised on the importance of
national happiness over national income since
the early 1970s, thereby adopting the Gross
National Happiness (GNH) over Gross National
Product (GNP).

Syria, South Sudan, and Iraq.
