Design Software
HACADS MOST INTEGRATED HAZARDOUS AREA CLASSIFICATION ANALYSIS AND DESIGN SOFTWARE

HACADS is an analytical engineering solution software specialized in calculating, simulating, designing,

analyzing, optimizing, and automating hazardous area classification studies and systems. It is an integrated
platform and the most comprehensive package of corporate solutions.
HACADS software is uniquely designed for hazardous area classification studies and analysis with a
combination of various local and international standards. The basis of the software is a modular, dynamic,
multidisciplinary engineering and data integrity approach. HACADS consists of document management and
several engineering modules supported by an integrated technical note system. Core modules such as the
Flammable Mixture Study module and the Ventilation Study module allow the determination of class, zone,
division, and zone/division extensions, including the most reliable AIT and gas group, using local and
international practices such as NFPA, API, and codes such as IEC, NEC, CEI, and IGEM. The purpose of the
software is to be accepted as the standard in hazardous area classification studies, design, and analysis
worldwide for EPCM, oil and gas, oil, petrochemical, and industrial facilities.

What’s in Hacads
HACADS – Hazardous Area Classification Analysis and Design Software – is a fully integrated, most
comprehensive enterprise software package that runs on Microsoft® Windows® operating systems.

HACADS is a single integrated package with multiple interface views such as flammable mixture
composition, fugitive emission, ventilation, zoning clearances, designed and developed by engineers to
address multidisciplinary hazardous area classification analysis systems for a wide range of industries with
multiple local and international standards.

HACADS allows you to easily create and edit chemical components, streams, merge-streams, source of
release schedules along with considering indoor-outdoor locations, process data to guide area classification
studies.

The software emulates real process operations as closely as possible. For example, when you select an
indoor or outdoor location in the location characteristic section whole stream calculations will be adjusted
accordingly.

HACADS incorporates innovative concepts for determining hazardous area classification designation with
user interaction.

Total Data Integration

HACADS allows you to create flammable composition mixture data with selected chemical compounds from
the chemical library including merge function to combine selected streams into one stream. Hacads also
allows creating ventilation data, physical location data, zone/division designations, and their clearances by
using different source elements in the same database for each process stream. For example, a compound
property contains not only data representing its chemical properties and physical data, but also information
indicating the streams through which it is found and the interaction with other streams. Therefore, the data
from a stream with flammable composition can be used to estimate and analyze AIT, LFL, UFL, hazardous
area group, vapor density, flammability, fugitive emission, ventilation, and zone/division designations. This
data integration provides consistency across the system and eliminates the need to enter multiple data for
the same stream, which can save you considerable time. Hacads document management system,
equipment management system, and technical notes module will fulfill total engineering data integration.

Simple Data Entry

HACADS monitors detailed data for each process stream. Data editors can speed up the data entry process
by requiring the minimum data for a particular study. To achieve this, we have structured the property
editors and flammable mixture editors most logically for entering data for different types of analysis.
HACADS’s streams and source of release schedule support several features to assist you in constructing
networks of varying complexities. For example, each equipment and stream can have individual parameters.
The streams and source of release schedule also allow you to place multiple selections with user interaction.
HACADS offers you several options to present or view your hazardous area classification studies. The

stream and source of release schedule parameters can be viewed or hidden for any particular presentation.
Among HACADS most powerful features are having a chemical compounds library with advanced
properties, combining streams, and creating required hazardous area classification zoning designations
according to available practices such as API 505, NFPA 497, and codes such as IEC 60079-10-1 standards.
It will also recommend some local standards such as CEI 31-35 and IGEM 25 in some cases for engineering
judgment. The chemical compounds library can be used to create the necessary compound list for
flammable composition calculation. Also, users can create their compound libraries with their parameters.
The ability to create chemical compounds allows calculations and estimates to be made up to the desired
depth and until the desired safety-related parameters are obtained. For example, combining streams can
get a feature that provides the ability to generate complex chemical properties estimation to guide you in
determining the hazardous area classification assignment while still keeping all streams with the original
data.
We see HACADS as the leading integrated database hazardous area classification analysis system that
enables you to get the most accurate result of a system for different analysis or design purposes.

Benefits of HACADS:
The benefits of Hacads can be detailed below in two stages as during the design phase and operation
phase:
During Design Phase:
➢ Provides easy and reliable control over EPCM’s and 3rd party hazardous area classification design.
Reduces long engineering hours by up to 80%
➢ Provides instant control and area/equipment classification assignment over hazardous area
classification system during design with dynamic variations of the process, chemical composition,
material, and equipment
➢ Eliminates engineering justification in gray areas, which are heavily used in current hazardous area
classification studies
➢ Reduces the total project cost by using reliable studies. Eliminates ups and downs in hazardous area
classification studies
➢ Eliminates the purchase of overclassified or under classified equipment at the start of the project
➢ Reduces cost in early stages of equipment fabrication design
➢ Improves engineering calculations and equipment rating accuracy and reliability
➢ Improves the security of projects/facilities with optimized purchasing of classified equipment in the
early stages of projects
➢ Provides optimum land use and reduces industrial land areas required for oil and gas,
petrochemical, and industrial facilities
➢ Creates project revisions for every design phase and change. As the Hacads hazardous classification
model will be established in the early stages of any project, the model can easily accommodate any
change. Any scenario can be simulated during the design phase for zoning and zone/division
extension that will shape the project equipment and layout
➢ Prints custom or comprehensive reports for hazardous area classification studies anytime

➢ Stores / manages all support/reference documents/drawings for studies with easy access. No more
supporting engineering documents are lost in the design and operation phases

During Operation Phase:

➢ Ensures that up-to-date proof of hazardous area compliance is always available as hazardous area
classification systems need to be reviewed at 3-to-5-year intervals
➢ Verifies/validates the hazardous area classification system of old/existing facilities
➢ Provides operational engineers with instant control over the hazardous area classification system,
ensuring the highest level of facilities safety
➢ Allows you to take control of your hazardous area classification system for the entire facility
➢ Requires little or no EPCM support during operation
➢ improves HAZOP, process safety, and reliability parameters during operation, expansion, and
modification of your facilities based on scientific Hacads data
➢ Significantly reduces the possibilities of emission reduction and industrial and environmental fire
hazards
➢ Easily adapt any change management system of facilities. Any scenario can be simulated during
operation for zone/division designations and zone/division extensions to ensure operational safety
➢ Creates temporary hazardous area classification system for temporary facilities in a short time
➢ Supports “work to permit” systems during operation for facilities
➢ Prints custom or comprehensive reports for hazardous area classification studies anytime
➢ Stores / manage all support/reference documents/drawings for studies with easy access. No more
supporting documents are lost in the design and operation phases
