Sachiv Interview

Major problems in the village?

Road connectivity, Non availability of Health centre, Mobile Tower, Drinking water, irrigation water,
check dam.

Due to no road connectivity cost of everything goes up. Tractor which can load 100 bags of cement for
plain area agrees to load only 25 -30 bags due to difficult terrain and no road but the rate of
transportation is same. In similar manner anything which is brought up to village cost goes up and the
approved budgeted cost goes for a toss. So customised budget as per the challenges of geography needs
to be made.

Due to higher altitude Hand pumps are not successful. 3 were approve for installation out of which only
1 is currently active rest 2 were failure.
Currently there is 1 solar pump and village need atleast 1 more as there are 126 Households having total
population of 769.

There is total 6 street light which are sufficient to light up the streets of village. Village has 24 hrs of grid
electricity supply.

Aanganwadi building is completed in 4 years. No budget allocation till now

Village: Karva

School headmaster

Due to distance of school and no option of transport students have to come walking and is one of the
major reasons of less attendance in the school.

There are 2 non local teachers who are also not regular and punctual due to no means of transportation

After Covid pandemic new students are not enrolled till now. There is lot of loss of to their studies.

Teaching curriculum is same as of CG Government but learning level of students are very low due to no
proper guidance available at home.

For drinking water, we have 2 bores, student drink from it directly.

School building is in poor condition and needs repair. Condition is so bad that there is always fear that
ceiling can fall any time.

Govt provide fund for purchase of Chat for students to seat so we have that. Mid-day meal is also
running very efficiently.

Currently we are in need for a playground space so that students can play there.

Major problems are internal roads for the village. There are no Electric grid connection, Solar Home
lighting solution was installed 5-6 years back but majority of that are dysfunctional due to non-
maintenance. Non availability of Health Centre.
Village has primary and secondary School. It has total 4 teachers. There are around 200 students.

Govt schemes: MGNERGA, PDS, AWAS Yojana, Toilet but only 10% are in working condition.

get dry up by summer.

Village: Belami

Sarpanch

Approximate 35-40 Household having around 200 population reside in Belami village. Major problem for
the village is Road connectivity, electric grid connection & mobile tower.

People of the village do subsistence agriculture and all agricultural land is rain fed. Major crops are
Maize and rice. NTFP produce are Mahua flower, Mahua seed and Wood, tendu patta and Sal seed.

Village school building work started but was stopped when half construction was done due to lockdown.
Aanganwadi building is also build recently but ANM doesn’t visit and most of the materials provided
