Objective
• To generate self-employment of farmers from Raji tribe through
organic farming of vegetables
• Up-grade the skills and methodologies of sustainable farming
among the Raji farming community
• To enhance knowledge of farmers on improvement of soil fertility
and land productivity
• To reduce the dependence of farmers for most of the inputs like
seeds, manures and plant protection material by sourcing local
resources there by reducing the cost of cultivation

Target Group
• 80 families from the Raji tribal community will benefit out of this
project
• Age group: 18-50

Project Objectives
 To generate self-employment of farmers from raji tribe through organic farming of
vegetables.
 To make the target group self-dependent.
 Up-grade the skills and methodologies of sustainable farming among the Raji farming
community.
 To enhance knowledge of farmers on improvement of soil fertility and land productivity.
 To reduce the dependence of farmers for most of the inputs like seeds, manures and plant
protection material by sourcing local resources there by reducing the cost of cultivation.
 Judicious use of precious water sources and maintenance of production level.
 To improve farmer’s income through production of quality produce.
 Promote bio-pesticides and disease management.

Implementation Strategy
• Identification of the potential farmers in the project area
• Recruitment of trainers and experts to train the farmers

• Marketing of the end products under the brand name “Uttra Fresh”
• PIA will channelize the remaining produce of the beneficiaries at
market cost

Marketing Plan
Considering the environment in which the rural market operates and other related problems, it is
necessary to evolve effective strategies for rural marketing. The strategies proposed to be
implemented for marketing of rural products is as under:

 Contact with retailers in the local markets: Contacts will be made with the local retailers. 

 Marketing of rural products through State level/District level/Block level Marketing


centers/other govt. infrastructure: The products will also be displayed and marketed
through marketing centers which are established at Block, Districts and State level.
Project Expected Outcome
• Net increase in the income of farmers of the Raji tribe using organic
farming technique
• Increase in Organic Farming skill of Raji tribe
• Increase in soil health, fertility to sustain vegetable farming based
livelihoods
• Increase in the water conservation and utilization in agriculture
• Increase in the sustainable farming practices
• Increase in use of bio-pesticides and organic manure
