a society and it has three major theoretical perspectives: the functionalist
perspective, the conflict perspective and the symbolic interaction perspective, which
allow people to understand the society more. Political Science is a social science
that deals with humans and their interaction. It deals with the large-scale action of

I realized that there are many perspectives to have a deeper understanding about the

make decisions and broad actions for us to make
the world a better place.

- Anthropology emphasizes in understanding human, human behavior and human
societies around the world as it is the study of man or human beings. It is important
because it widens our understanding about other people’s culture, human diversity,
holism, and bio-cultural focus that allow us to understand other people more for us to
avoid doing tactless remarks about their well-being.

b. Sociology
- Sociology is the study of human social relationships and institutions. It is important to
know about the perspective of sociology for us to understand how human action and
consciousness are shape by their surrounding cultural and social structures. It helps
us to understand the situation of others and allow us to gain knowledge about the
reason why people are in the situation they are in. It will also help us to consider
different surroundings for us to be aware about some concepts like oppression and
inequality that shape the lives of other people in a society.
c. Political Science
- Political science is a social that deals with humans and their human interactions. It is
important to know the perspective of political science to deepen our knowledge about
the government and politics. This knowledge will be valuable for the citizens because
it will explain government and legislative process more and they will be informed
about politics. Philippines is a democratic country and this perspective will help the
citizens to vote for the right president in the upcoming election.

Direction: Give a certain situation happening in your barangay where you can apply any of the

If I will apply any of the given perspective, I will apply the functionalist perspective. In
functionalist perspective, societies are thought to function like organisms, with various social
institutions working together like organs to maintain and reproduce societies. It means that
every individual has their own function that contributes to the stability of a society. In our
barangay, the covid cases are increasing and many people are affected. Functionalist
perspective will be a great way to know how to lower the number of the cases by
understanding the root of the problem and to come up a solution to solve the problem. For
example, the barangay official will provide information and give regulations to control the
issue which the residents should follow and obey. The officials should provide help and guide
the residents while the residents should be cooperative. Every individual has their own
function and everyone works together which will make the barangay a better and safe place
to live in.
