FOREWORD

Al-Rawabi Private School Board of Directors has decided to resume school for all students in accordance
with the MoE and MoH’s directions of regular students’ attendance taking into consideration all the
recommendations of The National Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in order to
secure the students’ health and safety.
The school will also provide online live lessons to the students who, for some health reasons, cannot attend
school regularly.

DAILY SCHOOL LIFE ROUTINE & PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES

 Number of students in each class:


 All classrooms will accommodate a number of students that secures the required social
distancing between students.
 Study time:
 The school day starts at 7.05 am.
 Gates will be opened at 6.45 a.m.
 Teachers will attend their classes starting from 7.05 am.
 The learning period duration is 55 minutes (G1-5) and 60 minutes (G6-12).
 During break time, no gathering of more than 3 students will be allowed.
 The daily morning assembly national anthem and announcements will be administered
while students are in their classrooms.
 Teaching and learning:
 Social distancing is to be maintained throughout the periods.
 Assignments and homework will be exchanged between teachers and students through
Google Classroom or emails.
 Food:
 The school canteen is closed until further notice.
 All students are required to bring their food and water – light meals (a sandwich, salad,
fruit, milk or juice…)
 No cooked food – like pasta – will be allowed.
 All students shall use their own ethanol hand wipes, and/or sanitizer gel.
 All students shall bring a small plastic bag for their personal trash.

 Uniform:
 All students shall abide by the school official dressing code.
 All students shall wear their school uniform, including the necktie.
 Sportswear will be allowed only on PE period day.

 Health & Safety:


On-entry:
 All students shall be dropped off at the school gates – Parents shall not get off their vehicles,
or enter the school.
 Temperature of all students will be checked & recorded – students with 37.5oC and above shall
not be allowed in.
 Students with any symptoms of COVID-19 or high temperature will be isolated, and parents
will be notified. Then, a medical report will be required for the student to resume school.
 Students will be directed to their designated classrooms immediately after temperature check.
 Before entering the classrooms, all students shall sanitize their hands using the sanitizer
dispensers in their classrooms.
In-class:
 Daily health & safety induction shall be provided by teachers.
 Classrooms shall be kept ventilated throughout the school day.
 Students shall keep their face masks during lessons.
 All students’ desks are protected by acrylic/ plexiglass shields.
 Students are not allowed to exchange any materials, equipment or food & water.
 Students will be assigned to specific zones, classrooms, and desks. It is strictly forbidden to
move to other zones, classrooms or desks.

 One student at a time shall be granted permission to leave the classroom and go to the toilet.
 All students’ movements (going out, leaving to toilets ...) shall be recorded by teachers and
shared with counsellors.
 Any sick student shall be directed to the isolation room by the counsellors – parents are then
notified to pick him up – then, a medical report shall be presented for the student to resume
school.

Pick up of students shall not involve more than one person, preferably people with no illnesses – Avoid
involving elderly people.

General Instructions:

 All students shall follow the health and safety plan devised by the clinic department.
 All students - except those under the age of 6 - shall be wearing their face mask at all times.
They will be allowed to lower the masks every 10 minutes.
 No more than 4 students shall use the toilets at a time – toilets shall be disinfected after each
single use.
 No food delivery shall be allowed.
 The school water dispensers will not be available.
 Parents have to notify the school administration in case their children are on medication.
 All school amenities will be cleaned and disinfected throughout the day.
 During disinfection and sterilization no visitors shall enter the school premises.
 Teachers, staff and students shall not leave the school and come back during the school day
unless for emergency. In case they have to, then they shall go through the same entry
procedures.
 Teachers, staff and students who have contacted any potential COVID-19 case shall notify the
school administration and refrain from coming to school until they are granted permission.
 Any gathering of students is strictly forbidden.
 You will be notified of any alteration proposed by the Ministry of Education.
 This plan shall be invalid if all COVID-19-related restrictions have been suspended.

DISTANCE LEARNING (ONLINE)
Online students will be enrolled in the regular sections and schedules will be posted in the
school website – links will be shared with students. Online teaching will be done through
ZOOM – passwords and users will be communicated to students before the start of school.

All students shall,


 Wear their uniforms including the necktie.
 Log in with their full names – no acronyms or labels
 Turn on their webcams throughout the lessons and quizzes.
 Use headsets and microphones for effective learning.
 Log in on time – (3 times lateness is recorded as 1 period absence).
 Abide by the teachers’ instructions during lessons.
 Display good discipline for the benefit of all students.
 Participate actively in the lesson through organised participation.

PARENTS’ RESPONSIBILITIES
Success of the school year depends heavily on the high sense of responsibility from the part of all stakeholders.
Therefore, parents are kindly requested to assume the following responsibilities:
 Refrain from bringing your children to school in case they have any symptoms of sickness (cough,
sneezing, fatigue, fever …).
 Drop-off & pick-up your children to school on time.
 Be patient & cooperative with the school administration and staff for the safety of the children.
 Avoid crowdedness and help with organization of students’ entry and dismissal.
 Park cars in the designated areas and avoid blocking the roads.

 Update the school administration with any special information about your children’s health.
 Provide masks and face shields to your children.
 Check your children stuff (books, notebooks, pens, food, water…) before coming to school.
 Never be late in picking up your children at the end of the school day.
 Instruct your children to maintain social distancing in their everyday contact.
 Communicate with the school through phone and email ONLY- if meeting is urgent, the school
administration will arrange for that.
 Any special needs concerning your children have to be communicated through emails to the school
administration – Counselling Dept.
