Habits are like plants. They can
be easily uprooted if they are just
beginning to peep above the
ground.
However, older plants are hard
to pull because they have rooted
themselves deep into the ground.
As young as you are try to
correct and correct your bad
habits. Change your bad habits;
keep your good habits while you can
A Family Picnic
Last summer, our family had a
picnic in Tagaytay. The picnic area we
visited was beautiful, cool, and clean. We
found the landscape
surrounded with thick rose bushes of pink,
red and yellow flowers. We surely had an
enjoyable relaxing time together. The
outing was an
experience different from what we had
been used to.
After a hearty lunch, we saw to it
that the picnic area was free of litters or
trash. Soon, we were enjoying the scenic
views while strolling and taking pictures of
the beautiful spots around the place.
Earthquakes
Sometimes a part of the
surface of the earth shakes. This is called
an earthquake. it happens because of the
great heat inside the earth. This heat can
make hard rocks near the surface move
and
shake.
Earthquakes happen on most
days in one part of the world. Most
earthquakes can occur under the sea, and
not many of them cause destruction.
However, some can do
damage to life and property.

heard something thump. He looked up, but there was
nothing. He looked down. There on the doorway was a
pigeon. Mang Arturo and the pigeon looked at each
other for a minute.
He took a dish of grains and handed it to the pigeon.
He did not want to frighten it. The pigeon was very
much at home. He took some grains, and off he flew
away. Mang Arturo did not think he would see the
pigeon again.
But the very next day he heard, “Thump! Thump!” at
the back door. There on the doorway was his friend, the
pigeon. This time there were six pigeons with him.
Arturo gave them all some grains and water to drink.
When they had their food, out they went. From that time
on, flocks of pigeons come to his farm and leave once

The Story of Wells:
Once upon a time, there was a severe drought in
a country. The king sent his soldiers in search of
water everywhere. One soldier reached a busy street
market and asked a shopkeeper, "Where can I get
water?"
The shopkeeper said, "There is no water here but
you can take this slab of ice. It is frozen water."
So the soldier took the ice with him. Neither he
nor his king had seen ice before. Soon the soldier
reached the king but in the meantime the ice slab had
melted into a small piece of ice. The king asked the
soldier to dig the ground to what he thought was the
seed of water to grow a tree of water. But The ice
piece melted when kept on ground and the water got
absorbed in the ground. The king asked his soldiers
to dig the ground to get back the piece of ice. The
soldiers dug deep in the ground but to their
amazement, they found water there instead of the ice.
That is how the wells were created.
So, the wells were dug all over the kingdom.
Aman Learns A Lesson:
Aman was a good and obedient boy. His parents loved
him very much. But Aman had one bad habit. He ate a lot
of sweets and chocolates. His mother always told him,
"Aman, don't eat so many sweets. You will get
toothaches."
His mother used to keep all the sweets in a glass jar. It
had a narrow mouth and a tight lid on it.
One day when his mother went to the market, Aman
saw that his father was asleep. So he tiptoed to
the kitchen and got the sweet jar. With great effort, he
opened the tight lid and put his hand in the narrow mouth.
Arnan picked a fist full of sweets. But when he tried to pull
his hand out, it got stuck in the jar.
Aman father was awake and watching. He said to
Aman, "You have picked up too many sweets in your fist.
It's more than your little hand can keep. Your fist cannot
come out of the jar. Let go of the sweets and pick only one
sweet in your two fingers and you can pull your hand out
easily. Always take as much as you can handle."
Aman pulled out his hand from the jar easily and thus
learnt a lesson.

know he is our King?”
“I’m sorry, sir,” the little girl said
politely. He may be the King To you, but he is
