It is common knowledge that towns became overcrowded and polluted in the last decades, which
attributable to the fact, that thousands of vehicles drive through each day, without even making a
stop. Politicians have come up with the idea of building a bypass around the city, which could be a
solution to the problem, although many people question whether it’s benefits outweigh the
disadvantages.

First of all, the reduction of the noise and the pollution would not only benefit the local residents,
but also the visitors, who can enjoy the tourist attractions peacefully. Unfortunately, this would also
mean, that passers-by would not spend that much money in the city, although, these people
probably do not even stop, they only drive through the entire town. Without these unnecessary
vehicles, the streets could be less loud, there would be much more parking spots and less traffic jam.
With these changes, the quality of the air would also immediately improve, which comes with a huge
amount of health benefits too.

Secondly, the building of a bypass would not only benefit the ones living in the city, but also the
drivers who are in a hurry. Measurements prove, that it is at least three times faster to get around
the city on a bypass than to drive through the city. This way the more people choose the bypass, the
less gas pollutes our environment. The ones having trouble driving through the entire city in order to
get to their workplace could also use these roads, and save up a lot of time and energy.

In light of the above, I firmly believe, that the building of a bypass would be highly appreciated by
commuters, drivers and residents too. The benefits it comes with are worth the few disadvantages,
and would solve an important matter the town has to deal with each day.
