What is COVID-19?
Coronaviruses are viruses that cause respiratory infections. These can range from
the common cold to diseases that are more serious. COVID-19 is the disease
caused by a new coronavirus. Wuhan City in China reported the first case in
December 2019.

How long is the incubation period?


The incubation period is estimated to be between 2 and 14 days.

How does COVID-19 spread?


The virus can spread from person to person through contact with an infected
person. This is usually through contact with droplets from an infected person's
cough or sneeze. You can also get it from touching objects or surfaces that have
cough or sneeze droplets from an infected person, and then touching your mouth
or face.

What are the symptoms of COVID-19?


COVID-19 can cause mild symptoms including a sore throat, cough, and fever.
Symptoms can be more severe for some people and can lead to pneumonia or
breathing difficulties. In rare cases, the disease can be fatal. Older people and
people with pre-existing medical conditions appear to be more at risk of becoming
severely ill with the virus.
