WHAT IS FANFICTION?

Fanfiction is writing that expands on an author or creator’s existing


story, characters, or fictional universe (called canon) with original
situations and settings. – (dictionary.com)

Stories involving popular fictional characters that are written by fans


and often posted in the internet. – (Merriam-Webster)

When did fanfictions began?
The term “fan-fiction” itself is a relatively new term,
sources like Merriam-Webster has traced the terms first
used in the 1930s-1940s.

What is digital arts?
“Digital Art” is a term that describes
technological arts. These are arts that is
produced through technology. Especially
relating to computers. Digital arts can
either be the art produced through
technological means, or the technology
itself, or both.
Categories of digital arts
Categories of Digital Art:
1. Object-Oriented artworks (technology as
tool or medium)
2. Process Oriented visuals (Technology is
the end itself)

WHAT ARE WEBCOMICS?

A webcomic is a digital cartoon, comic strip, or


illustration which has been created for online
publishing. Webcomics are often developed using
digital art programs, such as Adobe Photoshop or
Illustrator. Artists tend to publish webcomics on
personal websites, blogs, social media pages, or
art websites.

WHAT IS ZINES?
Zines is most commonly a small circulation
publication of original or appropriated texts and
images. More broadly, the term encompasses any
self-published unique work of minority interest,
usually reproduced via photocopier.

Some examples include newspapers, fabric, images,
drawn art, stickers, washi tape and paint chips.
WHAT IS INDIE MUSIC?
Independent music (often referred to as indie music or
indie) is music produced independently from
commercial record labels or their subsidiaries, a process
that may include an autonomous, do-it-yourself
approach to recording and publishing. The term indie is
sometimes used to describe a genre (such as indie rock
and indie pop), and as a genre term, "indie" may include
music that is not independently produced, and many
independent music artists do not fall into a single,
defined musical style or genre and create self-published
music that can be categorized into diverse genres.
How do you know if a song is
indie?
If it's on an unsigned band, it's indie. If
it's not, it's NOT INDIE. Indie stands for
"Independent". If the band is signed to a
record label, it's not independent.
