Name: How to run Communication Tool Update on eGlobe G2

Description: This instruction describes how to update the communication manager.

Details: Please use a clean (no virus) USB device. Follow instructions step by step. APN settings
are available from SIM card provider. GSM stick should always be connected to the same
station to avoid additional

1. Copy “eGlobeG2_communication_manager_update.exe” to root directory from USB

stick.

2. Connect USB stick and GSM stick to the unit used for GSM connection.

3. Switch off ECDIS software and click on “Update software” in ECDIS Integrator.

4. Select “eGlobeG2_communication_manager_update.exe” and click “Install”.

5. Click on “Yes”.

6. Click “OK”. (Other popups are to be ignored. System will perform restart automatically.)

7. Wait until system restarts automatically. No further actions required.

8. Start “Communication Manager”.

9. Confirm to start the communication manager. Click “Yes”.

10. Enter PIN for your SIM-Card.

11. Software tries to obtain the APN automatically. If APN is not available in database enter
configuration software and enter network settings manually. Step 11 and 12 show
where to enter APN settings manually.

12. After APN has been found you should review the automatically determined APN.
Click “OK” to confirm the message.

13. Right-click onto the MWconn logo. Context menu will open. Click on “Configuration”.

14. Configuration software will open. Go to network tab and check APN settings. If APN
settings couldn’t be determined automatically you can enter them here.

15. Click “OK” to save the settings. New dialog box will pop up. Software will create a new
dial-up connection. Confirm by clicking “Yes”.

16. GSM connection is now configured. Anytime you start the communication manager
from now on it will automatically try to establish a connection.
