Biochemistry is fast growing in importance, and it is quickly becoming one of the most prominent fields

of science. The field plays a significant role in the creation of unique new scientific methodologies by

combining the key tenets of biology and chemistry. But how significant is it in Pharmacy?

Biochemistry and pharmacy plays mutually cooperative role as it relates the different aspects of health

and diseases/. We also know that biochemistry focuses on the different biochemical process that is very

important in the drug development in the field of pharmacy. A drug's action almost usually entails a

change in the biochemical processes that are occurring in the body. Pharmacologists must be familiar

with the biochemical components of the human body as a result. Biochemical testing in pharmacy gives

crucial information about a drug's: mode of action, half-life, storage conditions, metabolism, and poten-

tial toxic or adverse effects

The different biomolecules plays different role in the human body like the Nucleic acid is an important

class of macromolecules found in all cells and viruses. The functions of nucleic acids have to do with the

storage and expression of genetic information Amino acid which provide the monomer units of the long

polypeptide chains of proteins and these amino acids and its derivatives has a great role in cellular func-

tions in the body. Proteins are the basic components of life. Protein is found in every cell of the human

body. A chain of amino acids makes up the basic structure of protein. Protein is required in your diet in

order for your body to repair and replace cells. Protein is also necessary for children's, adolescents, and

pregnant women's growth and development. Lipids are a heterogeneous group of compounds, includ-

ing, fats, oils, steroids, waxes and related compounds, that are related more by their physical than their

chemical properties Within the body, lipids function as an energy reserve, regulate hormones, transmit

nerve impulses, cushion vital organs, and transport fat-soluble nutrients.

In pharmacy, biochemistry was extremely important. Many pharmaceuticals are preserved for frequent

use in pharmacies, and biochemistry gives an indication of the drug's composition, its risks of degrada-

tion with temperature changes, and so on.
