1 INT. GERMANY – INSIDE LORRY – EARLY MORNING

Messy, loud and uncontrollable. Loud static radio noise blasts through
the lorry waking up our protagonist Adrian. He is frustrated as he was
trying to get some nice sleep and hoping to wake up when in Austria.

ADRIAN
When do we arrive in Austria Ana?

Adrian rolls over to face Ana, Ana slightly rotates her head towards
Adrian trying to keep concentration on the snowy roads ahead

ANA
Another 3ish hours… I think

Adrian rolls on his side again and sighs in boredom.

2 EXT. GERMANY/AUSTRIA – ON AUSTRAIN BOARDER – MIDDAY

Ana is looking ahead at the queue whilst trying to get all the
documents and passports ready, she’s flustered as Adrian isn’t awake.
Adrian’s snores start to overpower Anas train of thoughts. Ana is
starting to get angry at Adrian and can’t help but shout at him

ANA
Wake up you lazy sod!

Adrian jumps in shock and looks around in shear confusion wondering

why Ana has shouted at him.

ADRIAN
Uhm… what?

Ana stays in complete silent and just slides his credentials across
the dashboard. Adrian slowly grasps his credentials and rests then on
his lap. The lorry pulls up to the border control window. Ana rolls
down the window.

BOARDER CONTROL STAFF

Paper please...

Adrian leans his head over and passes his and Anas’ credentials over.
The Boarder control staff member slowly flicks through the papers.

ADRIAN
So... nice weather you're having

The Boarder Control Staff looks up and looks back down without
replying. Adrian prompts himself back in his seat.

BOARDER CONTROL STAFF

Ok all good...

Ana takes hers and Adrians credentials and rolls the window back up
and slowly drives off.

FADE TO BLACK:

3 EXT. CROATIA VAREZDIN- OUTSIDE LORRY- LATE AFERNOON

Ana gets out of the lorry and closes the door shut with Adrian
following behind her. Adrian wants to try and make conversation with
Ana again as they haven’t spoken to each other since the boarder. Ana
starts walking towards Daniel quickly leaving Adrian behind.

ANA
Hey Daniel.

Daniel takes off his sunglasses.

DANIEL
Please, call me Dan.

Adrian then catches up to Daniel and Ana and takes off his jumper as
it’s so much hotter in Croatia compared to Germany/Austria.

ADRIAN
Hey guys...

Neither of them reply to him. In shear awkwardness, Adrian walks away.

ANA
So... how long until we arrive into Novska?

Daniel
Uhm as soon as we set off it’ll be a good 45 minuets maybe an hour.

ANA
Ok thanks Dan

Ana walks back to the lorry and sees that Adrian has decided to drive
to Novska. She is happy by this as she if very tired from driving and
needs to rest. As she is about to steps into the lorry Daniel comes up
behind her.

DANIEL
Hey Ana, don’t know if you’ve seen on the briefing it says to watch
out for land mines and possible traps on gravel roads especially.

ANA
Yeah, that’s fine, I'm sure me and Adrian can watch the roads.

DANIEL
Safe travels.

3 EXT- GRAVEL ROAD- MIDDAY

Adrian, at the front of the convoy is confused on what to do as there

is a gravel road ahead.

ADRIAN
Ana wake up

Ana reluctantly wakes up

ANA
What do you want?

ADRIAN
Uhm there's a gravel road straight ahead

Ana sits up quickly and sees that the gravel road goes on for a few
miles. Ana starts to worry as they have to go across to deliver the
supplies to the orphanage.

ADRIAN
We have to go across

ANA
Let's do it
