There are some processes that
mitosis and meiosis have in
common those are:
 The cells goes through
similar stages and uses the
same strategies to organize
and separate
chromosomes.
 It goes through the
interphase for its growth
and DNA
 It enters the dividing stage
called the karyokinesis
followd by cytokinesis
Meiosis
 Occurs in reproductive cells
 It is used as a mode of
sexual reproduction
 Involves two successive cell
division meiosis I and
meiosis II
 Meiosis produces four
daughter cells
 In meiosis, the daughter
cells produced are haploid
with one sets of
chromosomes
 The four daughter cells are
genetically different from
each other
 Meiosis has a 8 stages,
since meiosis involves two
rounds of division and that
is meiosis I and meiosis II
