Viewing Box
- A viewing box provides a light needed for viewing a radiographic image. Through the
use of a viewing box, toxicologists may be able to see how it has affected and how deep
it has penetrated to the body.

H. Serological Pipettes

- 1mL pipette
- 5mL pipette
- 10mL pipette
- Serological Pipettes are used to transfer milliliter volumes of liquid. It has
gradations along their sides to measure the amount of liquid being aspirated or
dispensed. Therefore, in Forensic Toxicology, serological pipettes are used to
transfer milliliter volumes of any solution or chemical from one equipment to
another since it is useful for mixing chemical solutions as well.

I. Cotton Swab
- In Forensic Toxicology, this is commonly used in collecting any chemical substances or
any liquid objects found at a crime scene. Through cotton swabs, the substances are
being preserved then later on brought into the examination room for further analysis.

J. Staining Rack
- In Forensic Toxicology, staining racks are used to hold multiple microscopic slides that
have been used from previous analyses or that is in preparation for analysis. The
purpose of this is to preserve the slides for future reference and further analyses. The
slides contain a stain, and is up for analysis of what kind of stain is found on the slide.

K. Gloves
- Gloves are used for safety from any toxic substances that infect our ski. It is entirely for
the safety of those who walk in and out of the laboratory.

L. Test Tube and Rack

- Basically, test tube and racks are used if a certain chemical or solution is on standby, or
if not needed in the examination.
M. Mixing Bowl
- In Forensic Toxicology, mixing bowls are used to mixed a certain amount of chemical
with a solution in order to

N. Wire Gauze and Tripod

- The most common use of a wire gauze and a tripod is to provide heat on a bunsen
burner. In Toxicology, there are certain chemicals that need to be heated on a bunsen
burner to fully serve its function in the examination.
O. Separatory Funnel

- A Separatory Funnel is used to separate liquids that are unable to mix together due to
their different densities. To better understand, if you put water and oil at the same time in
a separatory funnel, you can clearly see how both are separated from each other. In
Forensic Toxicology, one of the methods used in determining the chemical substances
found is liquid-liquid extraction. Since extraction is a common technique that is used in
organic chemistry to isolate a target compound, toxicologists can easily determine
whether there exists an unknown substance that was used in the perpetration of crime or
there are toxic substances such as drugs that caused a person’s death.
