    An electric circuit is a path for electricity to flow. An open circuit is broken and does not allow electricity to flow while a closed circuit provides an unbroken path for electricity to flow. If there is no switch in a circuit, the circuit will always be closed and current will continuously flow. Current inside a cell flows from the positive terminal to the negative terminal.
