Practicum Experience
Extended Practicum II - 12 weeks - Teaching 100% for 5 weeks September to April 2021
Grade 2 - Dr. Roy Wilson Learning Centre, Medicine Hat, Alberta (Glenda Groom)
Students had varying literacy and numeracy abilities which made differentiation a crucial focus.
I planned my own units, lessons, and assessments while working in a collaborative Grade Two
team approach where my lessons would be followed by all teachers. I taught Grade 2 physed
with a class of 60 students where I planned and managed a centers-based approach which
focused on curricular outcomes. This practicum allowed me to show my strengths in goal-focused
lessons that combine literacy and numeracy, ELL support, differentiation and most importantly,
building community in the classroom.

Practicum I - 5 Weeks - Teaching 50% for 3 weeks November to December 2019

Grade 4 - Uplands Elementary School, Brooks, Alberta (Cecil Wells)

strategies for differentiation as I had forty-five students in my classroom. I taught ELA, Science,
Social Studies as well as Art, Computer (Coding) and Literacy through novel study and podcast.
I volunteered during lunch hours to co-teach Guitar Club for Grades 4-6.
