Learning Activities: MAJOR DEVELOPMENT PERIODS

1. Reflect on your early childhood, middle and late childhood days. were you able to
acquire the development task expected of early, middle, late childhood and adolescence.
what facilitated your aquisitions of the ability to perform such tasks? write your
reflection.
 When my mother was still alive she kept on telling me that during my early
childhood I was very healthy and so fat.I could speak fluently and could easily
grasp every thing they’ve taught me.Thus, I can say that I acquired all the
developmental task during that period. When I was a grade schooler, I could able
to acquire the cognitive development task because I was then a consistent honor
pupil.For as in the gross motor skill development I used to enjoy playing with my
peers. In that time I experienced being bullied because I used to play with girls
instead of boys.In my social and emotional development,I was easily go along
well with my peers and other fellow because they told me that I have the humor
and fun to be with until I reached the adolescence period. The person they’ve
known for so many years doesn’t change because I remain the same.During my
high school days, I still go along with my peers on the opposites sex but I have the
feeling that I can not explain because that time I begun to have crushed and
idolized boys. It was during my college days that I knew I was different which
regards to my emotional development. But through love and acceptance by people
around me especially with my family, I am proud of what I am and for who I am.

2. The quotation from Robert Haviguhurst “arises at a certain period in our life, the
successful achievement of which leads to happiness and success with later task while
failure leads to unhappines, social disapproval, and difficulty with later task.” . Reflect on
it.?
 For me, this quotation means that success comes in any part of our life and it
gives positive effect such as great feeling of happiness and thus,other successes
will follow because the first success motivated me to do well. On the other hand,
failure gives unhappiness because people will judge me and there’s a big
possibility for me to get annoyed instead to be challenged of doing such good
things. Hence, failure will result to difficulty of doing later tasks. In my own
experienced , I used to receive good comments in my high school days. After my
college, I was so upset because I failed people who believed in me especially my
parents when I failed my first take to my board examination because I didn’t met
their expectations.For that I delittle myself and my ability and I lose hopes. But
through the support of my parents I overcome my failure. But then again I never
lose hopes for how many times I took the board exam the many times I failed.
But I keep on trying because I never stop dreaming for myself and for my family.
That eventhough my life was so miserable life is beautiful.Many doors opened for me
and by that I overcome my failures.Many unhappy experiences followed. It was in the
year 2018 that I made up my mind by convincing with friends and family I again tried
my luck to my board examination until I passed.And at present I employed at Pug-os
National High School as Teacher I.

3. If learning is a constructive process and instruction must be designed to provide opportunities


for such constructivism, then what professional development practices can bring teachers to
teach in student-centered ways?
 We teachers as facilitators are letting the learners to participate actively in class
from the start of the class until it is finished. The teacher serves only as facilitator.
Collaborative learning also can be a big help. In this practice each learner will
share his idea and do his part in a certain activity. Through this kind of process,
they will become more independent and develop their creativity.
