1) The student attended a virtual research colloquium hosted by their university to provide graduate students experience presenting research and learn about latest trends in applied research.
2) Several speakers presented on various topics, including qualitative and quantitative research methods, and student presenters shared and defended their own research projects.
3) The student found the experience valuable in understanding the challenges of conducting research and realized the importance of thoroughly knowing their topic to confidently defend their work.

Reflection on Virtual Research Colloquium
Research Colloquium provides students with an opportunity to gain public speaking
experience, learn about student research from fields outside their own academic discipline, and experience judging methods used by professional organizations for national and international meetings. The Colloquium is an amazing opportunity for students to gain a real understanding of what goes into a professional meeting, encouraging them to actively pursue interdisciplinary areas of research. Faithful to its mission of equipping its students to become best researchers, the Cebu Technological University-Graduate School Moalboal Campus conducted a Virtual Research Colloquium on February 18, 2023 with the theme “Advancing Qualitative Researches in Bridging the Gap of the New Normal Education”. This colloquium aims the graduate school students expose themselves to the process of starting a research work and updates on the latest trends in applied research in various disciplines. The colloquium was facilitated by Mr. Cyril A. Cabello, an instructor at CTU Moalboal Campus and Executive Secretary of the University Campus Director. The first speaker was Dr. Jhoselle Tus, wherein he discussed the two types of research- the quantitative and qualitative. Both types of research has advantages and disadvantages. I preferred the qualitative research because I found it more challenging and I love to overcome challenges. After his talk, different presenters presented their researches and were given the chance to defend their respective research. The presenters answered some questions raised by the two great and expert moderators Dr. Greg and Dr. Ian. In the said colloquium, I realized that it was never an easy job to make a research. Aside from completing the parts of a research, you need to know everything about your research so that you can defend it impressively. All presenters delivered their topic so well but I can feel the tense of some of the presenters as the moderators asked questions and clarifications regarding their research. At the same time I felt proud and inspired of them because they were able to overcome the pressure in doing that kind of presentation. I am looking forward in making my own research paper and defend it as well. It was indeed a great experience to witness such informative forum and marvelous research presentations.
