•An interval is the difference in pitch


between two notes. It is the distance
between two same notes or two
different notes.
•To get the interval, count the number of
lines and spaces from the first note to
the next note.

•The interval of notes may be melodic or harmonic.
•Two notes one after the other form a melodic
interval. The notes are written in a horizontal
manner.

•In harmonic interval, the notes are written in a
vertical direction.

• The number of lines and spaces in between the two
notes determines the names of harmonic and melodic
intervals.
Count the numbers of lines and spaces starting from the
given note at the bottom to the next note.
