Since few months ago I have been struggling with a short question but at the same

time complicated to answer, how would be our days without selfies? Maybe we can think that,
as a short question, it should have a simple answer but just think a little bit more. Nowadays
selfies are the base of our daily routines since we wake up until late at night. For answer the
question I will use myself as an example.

The first thing that I do when I wake up, apart from cuddle my cats, is check my phone.
Because I am a teenager what I check first is social media, Instagram, Twitter… The point is that
I am not the only one, because when I enter in my Instagram, I already see pics of my friends
with the typical sentence “on my way to university” “7 am and already awake”.

My next step is preparing myself to go out and, let’s be honest, we all take a selfie of a
great outfit. So, the routine goes, I use my phone all day for university, just to curious in
internet, YouTube… but everything is full of selfies. Here is when the next question appeared in
my mind, what happen if I stop posting selfies and checking my social media for a week? And I
did it.

Instead of staying all night at my phone I came back with my reading hobby. Next
morning, I cuddle a little bit more my cats, naturally it was not easy not checking my phone,
but I did not do it. Everything changed a little bit during the week, I was less stressed about
myself, I always care about fashion, so I took that week as a random outfit week, and I started
to experiment with clothes and my hair.

All in all, after this little experiment I can say that we can live without checking social
media but, personally, I do not want to. Predictably, the same day I came back again to my
Instagram, the first pic that I posted did not have too many views and likes, but I did not care
because I knew it was a good pic and, undoubtedly, I knew the algorithm would do this to my
account. What did I learn? Dedicate time in what I want, accept the fact that we are pressed to
be 24/7 in social media even if we do not want to and, lastly but not worst, you do not have to
care what people say about you because we are all in the same position.

PAY ATTENTION TO SOME BASIC GRAMMAR THAT YOU PRESENT AND TRY NOT REPEAT THEM.
