Goal One: “Office Green wants to increase brand awareness.”

SMART Goal One: “Office Green wants to increase the brand awareness by
promoting its new Plant Pal service with new marketing and sales strategy. They will
do it by redesigning the website with a new plant pal landing page and a print
catalogue. The publicity aims to grow their customer base by 15% and to increase
unique page visit by 15K per month and eventually increase the revenue by 5% by
the end of the year”

What makes this goal specific? Does it provide enough detail to avoid
ambiguity?

The goal, to increase brand awareness by introducing and promoting a new Plant pal service
makes it specific. It avoids ambiguity by clearly stating the introduction of a new service, which
provides high volume customers with small, low maintenance plants for their desks.

What makes this goal measurable? Does it include metrics to gauge success?
Response: The goal is measurable because it provides the metrics and benchmarks. They
want to increase the customer base by 15%, increase the unique page visits by 15K per
month and increase the revenue by 5% by the end of 4th quarter.

What makes this goal attainable? Is it realistic given available time and
resources?
Response: The goal is attainable. It’s the beginning of Q1, and the project is scheduled to
launch by the end of 3rd quarter and the goals are set to achieve by the end of 4th quarter.

What makes this goal relevant? Does it support project or business objectives?
Response:This goal is very relevant and it supports the business objectives which are to
increase the profit by 5%. This objective is attainable through increasing brand awareness
too.

What makes this goal time-bound? Does it include a timeline or deadline?


Response:The goal is time bound because it clearly mentioned the time to launch the project
and deadline to achieve the goals. The project is scheduled to launch by the end of 3rd
quarter and they expect to achieve the goal by the end of 4th quarter.
Goal Two: “Office Green wants to raise the customer retention rate.”

SMART Goal Two: “Office Green wants to raise the customer retention rate by 10%
by the end of the year. They are planning to do it by introducing a new service Plant
pal service and by achieving customer satisfaction rate above 90% by improving
customer service standards.”

What makes this goal specific? Does it provide enough detail to avoid
ambiguity?
Response: This goal is specific and it gives enough details to avoid ambiguity. The goal
clearly want to increase the customer retention rate by 10% by introducing a new service and
improving customer satisfaction rate.

What makes this goal measurable? Does it include metrics to gauge success?
Response:The goal is measurable and it provides metric and benchmarks. One of the metric
is to increase the retention rate at least by 10% and the benchmark provided was 80% of last
year. Another metric provided is achieving customer satisfaction rate above 90% and the
benchmark was in between 85-90% over the past 5 years.

What makes this goal attainable? Is it realistic given available time and
resources?
Response: The deadline to achieve the goal is by the end of this year and currently it’s the
beginning of Q1. The new service will be launched by the end of Q3.

What makes this goal relevant? Does it support project or business objectives?
Response: This goal is relevant as retaining customers and increasing the customer
satisfaction will boost the revenue of the company. And it will help in achieving the goal of
increasing the revenue by 5% by the end of the year.

The goal is time bound and it is expected to be achieved by the end of Q4, in 12 months.
