Librarian Roles according to The ALA

ROLE 1: INSTRUCTIONAL PARTNER


Librarians and Educators coplan and coteach
to enhance the curriculum for learners.

ROLE 2: TEACHER
Librarians teach! They teach both
learners and educators various
essential skills to enhance learning.

ROLE 3: LEADER
Librarians curate and manage the
library. They train fellow educators for
needs based skills. Librarians also
buget and create a collection of literacy
and tech to support the community.

ROLE 4: INFORMATION SPECIALIST


Librarians are very familiar with The ESIFC
Inquiry process. The are a strong support
regarding inquiry learning and technological
programs and trends.

ROLE 4: PROGRAM ADMINSTRATOR


Librarians manage a library. They also create various
program to meet the needs and interest of their
learners providing them with opportunities they
usually would not have access to.
