Name: Raven Ann P. Dimapilis

Year and Section: BSACC 1-3

Answer the following questions

1.Choose one Philosophical perspective/view that gave the strongest impression in

understanding yourself better and explain why.

In my mind, self-understanding is invariably implying with the talking point of

self and identity. It is simply familiarizing and recognizing the self to construct from

the various disciplinal perspective to engage with the social world.

Moreover, understanding the self-better is indispensable in a way to fabricate a

meaningful and knowledgeable life. When we understand ourselves better, we can

decide properly and morally on the condition of wellbeing.

In essence, the Philosophical perspective that gave the strongest impression

in understanding myself better is from Plato’s Theory of Love and Becoming. Plato

stated and believed “The more the person knows, the more he is and the better he

is”. for Plato, the further the person realizes and understands, the more he has and

the finer he is. In reflection to myself, the more that I am aware of and knows myself

and my identity is the more that I can complete myself as a whole and build a better

version of my true self continuously. As a result of being aware, I know my

weaknesses and strengths as a human and through this, I can surely improve and

develop my action of well-being.

2. What is your philosophy in life?

My philosophy in life is “to be observant is to be knowledgeable.” In living,

people will always sense everything. These senses will bring us to doubt, think,

explore, and lead us to gain knowledge. People observe, explore, and create

effective conclusions to seek an answer in reality.

In reflection, I am the kind of person who is very observant and through this, I

can say that I am knowledgeable enough to understand some situations in life. To

sum up, I know that all people have goodness in their hearts but for me, they also

have bad sides in their identity which I am mostly noticed in every person I met in my

life. An observant person will notice every single part that will show to her. These

bad attitudes that I already observed will create questions in my mind that I cannot

skip, “Why does this person act like a mess”, “why some people are so greedy?”,

and “why some people are too unrespectful?”. These questions lead me to doubt,

think, and find answers. When I am finally done exploring, I may now have the

conclusion which is “We have imperfect world same as its people. We have a

different race to go through. So, don’t be harsh to someone and be kind to

everyone.” The conclusion and answer I formulated is a true knowledge that will help

me to understand people, situations and also my true self to act, decide, and behave

virtuously.
