AKNOWLEDGMENT
I would like to extend my sincere and heartfelt gratitude to my subject
teacher MR. ANUPAM RAJVANSHI who has helped me in this endeavor
and has always been very cooperative and without her help, cooperation,
guidance and encouragement, the project could not have been what it
evolved to be.

I extend my heartfelt thanks to my faculty for their guidance and constant

supervision, as well as, for providing me the necessary information
regarding the project.

I am also thankful to my parents for their cooperation and encouragement.

At last but not the least, gratitude to all my friends who helped me to
complete this project within a limited time frame.

PROJECT 2
AIM
To find experimentally that when calculated by increasing the
number of observations, the probability of an event
approaches towards the calculated probability .

PROCEDURE:
 This project can be done individually or in groups of three to four.
 The student should be collect the data about the birthdays of all student in any five classes in
their schools. The data should be arranged in a table according to the number of student born
in a particular month, as shown below.

CLASS TOTAL

 Now find out the probability of child being born in the month of
January by using the formula

the actual calculated probability.

 Now find out similar data for five more classes .

 Arrange the data obtained for all the ten classes in another table
just like the given above.

 Again calculate the probability of a child being born in all the

months from the data you obtained for all the ten classes
combined.

 Compares these probabiltires with the actual calculated

probabilities. What do you observe. Do the probabilities calculated
though experimentation approach toward calculated probability ?

 Now, find out similar data for five more classes and repeat the
above steps for fifteen classes together.

 What did you find?

PROJECT 5
AIM
TO FIND OUT THE EFFICIENCY OF PACKING OF OBJECTS OF DIFFERENT
SHAPES IN A CUBOIDS BOX .

PROCEDURE:

 On a drawing sheet, draw 25 circles of same radius.let their radius

be r.

 Enlclose them by a box as shown in fig.1. name the as ABCD.

 This kind of packing is known as square packing.

 Now, we will find the efficiency of this kind of packing.

 Area of 1 circle = π r 2

 Area of 25 such squares =25 π r 2

 Diameter of one circle =2r

 In ABCD,length of AB=BC=CD=DA=Diameter of 5 circles= 10r

 Area of ABCD = AB× BC = 10×10 =100 r 2

area of 25 circles 25 r 2
 Efficiency= area of ABCD = × 100=78.5 %
100 r 2
 Now, draw 25 circles again, all same radius r as shown in fig.2.

 Enclose them in a box and name it PQRS.

 Now, we will find the efficiency of this kind of packing

 Length of AB=BC=CD=DA=2r.

 This makes triangle DEF anequilateral triangle

 DG is the altitude of a right angle triangle,DEG

 DG 2 = DE - EG
2 2

 DG 2=(2 r )2−r 2

 DG =√ 3 r

 Length of PQ = 10r

 Length of QR =5×DG + r + r

 = 5√ 3 r=2 r

 =r(5 √ 3 r=2 r )

 Area of PQRS=PQ×RS

 =10r × r (5 √ 3 r+ ¿2)

area of 25 circles 25❑2

 Efficiency = area of PQRS = 100 r ×r ( 5 √ 3 r+ 2 )2 ×100

 ¿ 73.7 %
PROJECT 6
AIM
TO MAKE A MATHEMATICAL DESIGN USING ARITHMETIC
PROGRESSION .

PROCEDURE:

╣ Take any three numbers a, b and c which are in ARITHMETIC

PROGRESSION .

╣ Now, add the three numbers and obtain another number s, where s
= 1+3+5

╣ Now cut four square of side s cm and paste it on a sheet.

╣ Now, cut four rectangles of dimension 1× 9

╣ cut four rectangles of dimension 3×9

╣ cut four rectangles of dimension 5×9

╣ Now paste the three strips of size as, 3× 9 and 5× 9 on one side of
the square.
╣ Repeat this for all the four sides of the square.

╣ Join the gap by straight lines as shown in the figure.

╣ I have made a mathematical design using arithmetic progression.

PROJECT 8
AIM
ANALYSING YOUR RESULTS AND INTERPRETING THEM.
