Chapter V

Summary, Conclusions, and Recommendations

This chapter will discuss the summary, the final conclusions of the study, and the
recommendations of the researchers for future similar studies that are to be conducted
surrounding this topic.

Summary

This study was conducted to discover the perceptions that the Montessori De Zamboanga
Junior High School male students have regarding the implementation of the haircut policy. It
aimed to determine to what extent they agreed to the policy and whether or not they were aware
of said policy. The research utilized a questionnaire-checklist from which the data from the
students was gathered and the survey consisted of 10 questions that was simply answerable by
yes or no. The online survey was formulated using Google forms and it was conducted online
due to a pandemic crisis that occurred during the time of research.

Conclusion

With the use of an online survey questionnaire and statistical analysis, we the researchers,
conclude that the Junior High students of MDZ are aware of the implementation of the school’s
own haircut policy, its guidelines, and the consequences of said policy. Most of them have
positive views towards a proper haircut with most even thinking that it is beneficial to them,
albeit failing to follow the implemented policy and acquiring a first offense and guidance record
in the process, with the majority of males getting a warning about their haircut during class and
signing in the guidance logbook. Though we may take into consideration the fact that some of
these students don’t have time to go to the barber shop or simply because naturally, males,
although not all, fail to follow simple policy guidelines that concern proper grooming because
they either see it as completely unnecessary or are just extremely lazy.

Recommendations
We, the current researchers of this topic, recommend the future researchers that plan to
conduct a similar study to our topic to have more variables and number of respondents. We
especially encourage the addition of more respondents for the survey due to this one having only
23 individuals. Future studies could include the perceptions of elementary students in Montessori
de Zamboanga as well. Also researchers could include a study on how this policy may affect the
female gender. Future researchers could fix the questions for the survey and also add additional
questions as well. If desired, researchers may also touch on the subject on how the haircut policy
affects a student’s academic performance.
