LEARNING ACTIVITY
Activity No. 2 - Identifying and Analyzing Risks
Objective: 1. Identify and analyze risks common in the hospitality and tourism
industry.
Direction: Write a list of specific risks common in the different areas of hotel
operations and tourism activities. Justify why such activity has deemed a
risk. Content and organization of the justification (supporting pieces of
evidence) will depend upon the discretion of the instructor. The
transmutation table will be used in grading student’s answers.

Risks Justification
1.POOL AREA Make sure the tiles and floor is not cracking, wet
and moldy and always clean properly.
2.FIRE ALARM In actual fire happens make sure your alarm
system is all working in case of this emergency.
3.PLUG-INS All plug-ins must be covered ,so that no one can
stick their fingers in the socket most especially
the children.
4.VENTILATION OR AIRCONDITION Cleaned regularly to keep dusty and moldy so
that your guest or they can rest properly.
5.NO SMOOKING SIGNS This is the important in any hotel, so that
nothing can catch fire and posted inappropriate
areas.
6.PROPER DISPOSAL OF WASTE Managing of waste by disposal and recycling of
waste management need proper techniques and
always keep in our mind about the environment
7.DIRTY ROOMS Mistakes always happen, so don’t spend too
much time freighting over it. Just make sure the
staff is always doing their job well.
8.THEFT OF PERSONAL ITEMS This is a very serious issue that shouldn’t be
taken lightly .If the guest accuse your staff of
stealing their belongings ,then should have a set
of procedures in place to handle the situation
9.EXIT OR EMERGENCY SIGNS In case of emergency your signs must be visible .
10.NOT HONORING RESERVATION If you find yourself in this situation ,your best bet
is to treat them in a nice way .
