NARRATIVE REPORT ON BRIGADA ESKWELA KICK-OFF PROGRAM

“Students success comes from a positive learning environment”. An overly used but striking statement
that hits the red mark when we speak of students learning. Environment plays a big role in the teaching-
learning process. The Department of Education always put it as the priority and ensure that schools are
prepared by conducting the annual “Brigada Eskwela” before the opening of classes.

It has been the second year since the pandemic has challenged the strength, will, and
capabilities of the educators in providing education to our learners. The Department of Education keeps
on modifying school activities such as the Brigada eskwela to cope up with the needs of the current
educational setting brought up by the pandemic. In the absence of physical learning, the focus of the
mentioned activity is to ensure the delivery of quality of education in the safest way possible.

For this year, Rosario Integrated School officially announced the opening of Brigada Eskwela
2021 through a program with the theme “Be a Volunteer, Be a Donor, Be a Hero” on August 17, 2021. It
aims to encourage and strengthen the participation of the school’s stakeholders in the preparation for
the opening of classes. Teachers, parents, students, and other concerned people of the community,
organizations, and different departments of the local government were gathered to support the activity.

For the recognition of the participants, Sir Ronald Duran of the Senior High School started the
program with a roll-call followed by a solemn prayer led by the Head Teacher of the ESP department
Mrs. Maricar Gonzaga. Mr Rosalio B. Valdez, the Assitant Principal of the Senior High School, highlighted
in his opening speech the importance of the activity in promoting quality education. Our school
principal, Ma’am Alicia Aprecio, emphasized the big contribution and the unending gratitude of the
Department of Education to the volunteers and donors who keep on supporting the school activities.
She also mentioned how important the donations help in sustaining the school needs specially in the
current situation. After the words of gratitude and recognition, Mr. Jessie E. Andrada the Head Teacher
of the English Department and the Brigada Eskwela School Coordinator explained the flow of the activity
by discussing the Brigada Eskwela Implementation Plan as well as the expected programs to be
conducted.

After the orientation, Mrs Zenaida Laguatan, the PTA President, assured in her stakeholder
message the full support of the parents and guardians in the implementation of school activities. She
commended the efforts of the education department in delivering of quality education in the challenge
of the pandemic. On the other hand, the beloved mayor has never failed to lift up the spirit and humor
of his listeners through his speeches. He guaranteed that the Local Government Unit (LGU) widely-open
its door for any help and support the school will need. He reminded everyone the importance of
education to the community and development. To conclude the program, Mr. Nelson Ladia left a
message on how things will be possible and achievable through the efforts of everyone.

Brigada Eskwela is indeed a great representation of Bayanihan and the community’s love for
learning. May it be big or small, service or material, old or young, each contribution counts. Each
contribution and effort leads to development and change.
