A. Answer the questions below. Use the examples as models of the grammar
and vocabulary you have to use.

1. Why didn’t you study English before? (List at least 5 reasons in a

composition.)

Example:

One of the reasons why I didn’t study English before it is because I

thought it was too difficult. I didn’t understand my English teacher at
school and that was frustrating.
 I did not study English because I thought that I would never leave the country
for a travel, and I believed that it was not so important to learn another
language.

 I did not study English because in my time there was no internet and all the
face-to-face classes were in the city, the town where I lived did not have
private English courses.

 I did not study English because I did not have time to study, I was focused on
my work and put learning aside.

 I did not study English because my family did not have the resources for me
to study English, since they were quite expensive.

 I did not study English because I did not like it, I thought it was a very
complicated language to learn.

2. How different would things be if you had learned English before? (Name
and explain at least 5 things.)

Example:

If I had learned English some years ago I would have accepted a job a
multinational company offered me five years ago. One of the requirements
was to speak English and my level back then was very low.
 If I had studied English, I would see my favorite movies in their original
language, and I would not have to read the subtitles.

 If I had learned English, I would have been able to work abroad in a large
company.

abroad, and better position myself at work.

countries.

of the other players speak English, and I don't understand them.

 I am studying English because I like music in that language, and I

want to understand the lyrics of the songs.

2. In what ways are you going to benefit from this learning?

Example:

more satisfying and better-paid job. We live in an international open market and
English is the most important language.

more people from other countries.

other countries since I will be able to ask for locations in a correct
