Programme : B.E. Date : 20.07.2021
Branch : Common to (CSE, IT, ECE, EEE, EIE) Time : 2.30 pm to 4.00 pm
Semester : II
Course Code : 20MEC11 Duration : 1 ½ Hours
Course Name : Engineering Drawing Max. Marks : 50

PART – A (5  2 = 10 marks)
ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS

1. Name the different methods used for development of surfaces. [CO4, K1]
2. Write the difference between Isometric view and Isometric projection. [CO4, K1]
3. How is the angle for lateral surface development of cone calculated? Find ‘θ’ for a [CO4, K2]
cone with 50 mm diameter and 65 mm generator.
4. Define ‘Isometric Projection’. [CO5, K1]
5. Draw the isometric view of a circle of diameter 50 mm using four centres method. [CO5, K2]

PART – B (2  20 = 40 marks)
ANSWER ANY TWO QUESTIONS

6. Draw the development of lateral surface of a hexagonal prism of 24 mm base edge [CO4, K3]
and 68 mm height. An insect moves on its surface from a corner on the base to the
diametrically opposite corner of the top face by the shortest route. Trace graphically
the path of the insect in front view.
7. A hexagonal prism, side of base 25 mm and height 50 mm rests on HP and one of [CO5, K3]
the edges of its base is parallel to VP. A section plane perpendicular to VP and
inclined at 50° to HP bisects the axis of the prism. Draw the isometric projection of
the truncated prism, showing the cut surface
8. Draw the front and top views of the given object. [CO5, K3]
