1. According to medicinenet.com, aerobic exercise is a brisk exercise that promotes the

circulation of oxygen through the blood and is associated with an increased rate of
breathing. Examples include running, swimming, and bicycling.

2. The FITT Principle (or formula) is a great way of monitoring your exercise program.
The acronym FITT outlines the key components of an effective exercise program, and
the initials F, I, T, T, stand for: Frequency, Intensity, Time and Type.

a. Frequency - refers to the frequency of exercise undertaken or how often you

exercise.
b. Intensity - refers to the intensity of exercise undertaken or how hard you
exercise.
c. Time - refers to the time you spend exercising or how long you exercise for.
d. Type - refers to the type of exercise undertaken or what kind of exercise you do.

3. Types of Aerobics:
a. Light impact aerobics exercise can elevate the heart rate without jarring the
spine and worsening back pain, a preferable option for those with back pain.
Some examples are walking, cycling, and swimming.
Any group aerobics class that doesn't involve jumping, running, leaping or
vigorous punching or kicking is generally considered a low-impact class. These
may include classes like Zumba, beginner step classes and other dance classes.
Calorie burn will vary by class, but you can expect to burn roughly 340 calories
per hour.
b. Moderate impact aerobics exercise can also include weight training, or
endurance exercise — things like jogging, cycling, or lap swimming. If you have
older (and therefore heavier) children, carrying them around also falls in the
moderate intensity category.

c. High impact aerobics exercises are those where both feet are periodically off
the ground at the same time. These tend to be high-intensity forms of exercise
that can be more stressful to the bones and joints. This can result in a leaner,
fitter physique, faster.
If you've ever watched popular dancing shows like So You Think You Can
Dance? or Dancing With the Stars, you know that there's lots of running,
jumping and leaping involved. Dance classes that incorporate this type of
movement are considered high-impact dance. Expect to burn between 300 and
600 calories an hour depending on the amount of high-impact activity involved.
