INTRODUCTION
Grover zampa is an Indian vineyard and wine producing company in
Doddaballapura Karnataka. Grover zampa was started in 1988 by
Kanwal Grover who left his job in the space and defence procurement
industries to start a winery.
In 1982 Kanwal Grover invited George vessel to India.
George vessel was a world renowed expert in champagne wines. In
1922 they finally acquired land in Doddaballapura near Bengluru and
started wine production.
Currently Grover zampa has vineyard in both Nashik, Mahashtra and
Nandi hills, Karnataka. Grover zampa’s main markets are in the
states of Maharashtra and Karnatanka.
The major wine brands produced by Grover zampa include :
 Grover sauvignon blanc
 Vijay amritraj reserve collection white
 La reserve blanc
 Zampa soiree brut
 Zampa soiree brut rose
In 2017 , grover zampa was named as the winery of the year by
sommelier India , which is India’s largest wine magazine
Grover
zampa was the first vineyard and wine production company in India to
produce and grow Tempranillo grapes.
Grover zampa is also one of the largest wine exporters in India
with their produce being exported to Japan, US and Australia.
RATIONALE AND JUSTIFICATION OF THE
STUDY

Grover zampa vineyard is the country’s second largest wine
producer. The culmination of a merger between Grover vineyards and
Vallee de vin, Grover Zampa exhibits the most impressive pedigree in
the Indian wine industry and ows an array of widely recognized
brands. Grover zampa endeavours to let connoisseurs and wine
enthusiasts embark on a journey of senses through not only offering
them the world class wines but also enhancing the wine’s blissful
experience through wine tourism and wine education .

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY-

● To learn about the wine culture in India.
● Wine tour and tasting.
● Studying the grape variety and grape harvesting of Nandi
hills and Nashik valley.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

Understanding the struggle of opening a vineyard in India.

Learning about the difficulty that occurs at the time of opening a

vineyard in India by the owner and learning the journey of

making it a leading vineyard and still maintaining it. Collecting

information of visiter’s and wine taster’s reactions and rewievs.

SCOPE / BOUNDARY OF RESEARCH


As a part of our curriculum and syllabus, food and beverage service is a

very important subject, to learn the beverage part of the study, we have

decided to select the topic of Grover zampa as the topic of our research.

we shall cover many aspects of the topic. which shall include every

possible aspect or a view of the topic which we can think of. Our research

shall include every minute detail both of the theoretical and practical

practices used at the vineyard. Right starting from their philosophy to the

history and moving on towards the viticulture that is the wine making

process they follow at their vineyard. the scope of this research is very

clear so as to understand the working and the processes done at the

Vineyard Grover zampa. we shall briefly try to understand all the

processes and procedures they do to make the French wine in India. the

vineyard is famous for making French wines and is a very main exporter of

winds from India. are study cells show all the points and all the important

things about the vineyard. we shall also try to show about the tour and

tasting of the wines which is done at the Vineyard. the tour includes of a

lunch and also the tasting of the wines it is a complete package. the

packages are pre booked before the arrival of the guest the guest already

books the package online. our study cell basically give an overview about

the wines including of the tour in testing, the grapes imported from the

country and the wines produced by the vineyard. we are trying to

understand the wines made at the Grover zampa to basically understand

the wines produced at the vineyard and also the processes that they

follow. through our research we want to show that French wines not only

can be made in the France but also can be made in other countries using

some import from France. In our research we shall try to show the struggle

done by the owner while they were creating this vineyard.
